sounds stupid - but have you checked the plastic cover (engine one)?? (not sure if you still have it on) that rattles..a LOT

what are your brake pads like? if they are low this will come up as low fluid - but the handbrake light would be on too..

im not an expert - but would the revs be higher on tick over if your battery was low on juice? and trying to recharge itself?? or does it only do that whilst moving..

i still have the boot carpet and a shock absorber for the 182... random..

is this a 182?? if sooo...check under the car where the exhaust joins the manifold (at the front) the bit that hangs lower... check the spring attachments that hold the exhaust together.. if one has perished it will rattle like f**k under acceleration...eventually the exhaust will start...

any pics of these problems? in other threads etc?? seems like a hell of a lot of problems you landed with this one..see they havent got any better with the durability of anything..
