OK - firstly, PLS dont put ANY speaker in the rear parcel shelf - to be breif your sub will use the entierty(sp) of the boot as an enclosure - while the speaker in the shelf will do the same - after a month or so they will start to be ruined from the more power full sub. Also unless you set it...
Sounds like a good install!! i like the makes in there!!
Best thing to do is install all the gear - use the crossovers ect on the amps - fine tuen things such as the tweeter position ect. Then work out what you dont like about the system - if there is anything - then buy an epicenter or some...
alpine HU are GREAT!!! i love them! there amps are really quite good for the money as well. Although there speaers and subs are good - they are not great - and IMHO better can be found for the money - thats personal taste tho
crystal - good make - heard some of there new comps- very clean - but to tell the truth - havnt heard the new range of amps!! havnt heard any of the pyramid stuff.
whats the stats of the stuff ur looking at??
why do you want comps that can take mor power in the rear?!?! seems a bit strange!! if you play it so 40rms to front and 50rms to the rear - youl have an apualing sound stage!!!
Dont get ANY rear speakers - some of the best systems i have ever heard dont have any - not needed - spend it all...
^ but not too much higher - try lower end alpine stuff. will u be using the 4 channel for fronts and sub? whats your budget - a decent 4 channel will defo cost at least £200
i drilled wholes to get cable through - a bit daughnting(sp) but the best way IMO.
100rms is not really enough to run a sub well - it will run it but not to its full potential - try some of the jl amps.
sounds like the HU - can you borrow an amp off any one? if so try them off that.
It may sound silly - but have you check to see if the door cards are secure - ive heard people complaining about the speakers - and its been door card ratteling!!!
Have you tried linking the fronts to the back...
splx - sh*t. - thats the only word im prepaired to say in the same sentence as splx!!
But if your talking about spl dynamics - there good - but not cheap.
A good rule i was told - get the most expensive mp you can with the lowest rating!!!
on mine - the 7894rb - it dims only when lights go on - it may be that the dimmer wire - organge one i think - isnt wired correctly
BRUN - can you not change the angle of the front display to suit were you sit - wouldnt of thought they would have got rid of this function!!
but there are some great 4 channel amps - i started with a 50rms x4 alpine as well - now have used it to run the fronts only - soon going active, while sub has a seperate - but he is short on space. something along the lines of a mac audio would be good - if you could pick up a last season model...
^ no please dont!! its usually splx, sony, kenwood, boshmans ect - please dont!!!
Also they may say its reduced - in comparrison to there prices - you find cheaper on the internet
is there any reason why you want to buy it from US ebay??? - it will not work out any cheaper when you factor in shipping and import tax - and the time your going to have to wait to get it!!
Get a second hand amp - somthing along the lines of a JL 300.4
Basically just look at the RMS or...
^^ true but by the time you get it to the UK - postage and time more importantly - its not worth it
Also if he is only running 1 amp - he will be able to use 8 gauge cable with no porblems on that sort of power
whats your budjet?
When it comes to securing your amp - you could cut a peice of ply the exact size of the carpet - or just big enough to take the amp - so you spear wheel isnt blocked - ease up the lugage bar - slide the extruding bits of ply under this use industrial velcro under the other...
sorry just looked at the amp kit didnt realise it was a top of the range one - you woudnt need it for this amp ampway - thats need if your going into serious competitions - a half decent one will cost about £30 for a 4 gauge - you end up paying more than that for that one anyway
ok - the amp looks like its rated in max power - NOT a good sign. Plus it will take a LONG time to get to you, about 6 weeks - what it took to get my old sckool rocky! and it will cost about $30 to get it posted
Also if its over $100 (i think its this) you get hit by import tax ect!!
The...
it could be a dodgy earth link, or speaker cables touching bodywork or each other - have you tried disonnecting all bar 1 speaker and the turning it up, then repeating on all speakers - as there may be a split cable and at low vol there may not be enough power going through it to short it ect...
^ you sure - i was running the rears WHILE having the preouts from the HU for the fronts, rears and sub going to an amp - as i was useing the fronts and rears for the fronts - so i could still use time correction on the fronts with the amp bridged - if you get what i mean
But that is on...
