well naks are brilliant sq unit, best make id say (some other units are outstanding but naks are consistanly amazing IMO) but cheap, i suppose about £500 for one.
Or are you talking used?
well, ive fitted head units in glove boxes before. very easy, especially if you have a removable section at the back of the glovebox to get cables through, then all you need is either a cheap din sized bracket (from halfords) i think its desinged froo similar use, or make a fiber glass front to...
^ as above, ive only every had 1 prebuilt box, it wasnt totally sealed, used silicon to seal edges (if you use silicon leave box to air for 24hours, as the chemicals in the silicon eat away at the voice coils of the sub!) so now i use p40 (used it in a box edges first time today!).
id recomend what pete said, but it will they don;t compare to a normal rca output.
How about getting an old skool alpine HU, they are brilliant, and may fit in with the car.
OR put the HU in the glove box (and leave the original HU in din slot), just done this on my brothers car, moved the...
i would sugest these

not usually a jvc fan, but this is a good cheap HU - my brother has one...
if you have subs running in the boot, either take the 6*9s out(if in parcel shelf) or put an enclosure under them. Also it would help if you put a filter on them to filter out treble
they are good for budjet amps, for £130

^ that wount work, as the balance moves from left to right channel, not anything to do with the phase of the speakers. Your thinking of RCA cables i think:)
there isnt a black strip, IIRC they are white and pink and white and orange in mine (but never needed to find out which was which as i ran new cabling)
get a multimeter, and test them, if the voltage shows up as -ive then you have the positive node of the multimeter attached to the -ive speaker cable and - node to + wire, if positive visa versa
for that price either the pioneer p77 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2381http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2381
or the 9812 alpine...
ICE-a_Holic - very unlikly that speaker cables pick up interference, as they do not carry enough voltage, ive never heard of that before, if im not mistakened IASCA dont see it as a problem either. but i suppose its worth a try if nothing else works
you can get the grill off, and hen maybe the tweeter out, and then maybe chnage the tweeter- but its easier, and you will make a better job of it, maybe even quicker to remove the dash, its really not hard
sounds like a good bet.
as pete 172 says, i hant seen the pics of your RCA cables, but you should be spending a decent amount on RCAs im not talking huge amounts, but say £20 per RCA.
Rich_M - was he talking about the build? did you do it yourself? thats quite harsh, have you got any photos of it?
Also what kind of build was he going to do for £300, most proffesional installs ive seen have cost at least 3 times that!
a few qs?
do you rca cable and your 12v cables run down different side of the car?
If so
Does the 12v cable run down the side where the ECU is based?
Does your HU have a DC/DC converter?
Rorrie
i fitted my comps in the standard locations at first, didnt take long, taking dash off saves time IMO, and makes a better job, but now im moving the mids and tweets into kickpods, but they were OK in stock posistions
like this originally(sp)...
a friend has the top ones, they not too bad, especially for the money. But still not going to give great SQ, but if its just for an upraged of the stock one to be run off the HU, they should do.
Also i agree with BRUN - and il take it a bit further to say all there drivers and a bit in your...
