where is it mounted at the moment? there is an earth point below the rear light, IIRC if you remove the trim on the boot lip (where the lid meets the boot) pull the carpet back there is an easy place to earth.
You could drill a whole into the boot floor (as long as your carefull where)
how...
you can get better for your money IMO, they make great hu and the ealier v12 amps were lush! but the speakers dont stand up to them - that not saying they are bad by any means!
the box, or the fact that that subs are wired the wrong way (polarity reversed - as this is often deliberatly done to focus bass) will not casue the pop, thats somethign in the electrical system, it could be the hu, could be a bad earth on the sub, it could be the amp, its an elimination...
^ sorry thats not true.
It totally depends on the speaker, the angleing of the speakers and the car.
If you have the tweeters and the mids apart, eg the mids in the doors and the tweeters on the dash or in the a pillars, you will drag the stage hieght up, but youl get cronif seperation...
Id say no, as the pastic side parts that the shelf runs on is different, in a mk2 they come all the way to the openning of the boot, where as in that pic they dont.
well, in mine, i took the tweeters out, and they would easliy have gone back in, but my tweeters were really quite large, so i have to cut some of the podd that the tweeters sat ion below the dash away, but they will still go back in.
the wire were fed up the side of the dash, and out throught...
there are usually 2 iso blocks, one for power and one for speaker cbales, this could be loose.
If you didnt fit it yourslef, and you have the time to, take it back and get them to sort it out.
but then fitting the new tweeter will be a bit tricky, well to get a good positioning anyway!
you could attach them to the A pliiars, have them say 3 inchace up from the dash facing each other or slightly towards the mirror - at the end of the day, if anything were to go worng, or you sell the...
the bear - well, if i were you id get only new fronts and an amp, leave the stock rears run them off the HU and amp the fronts, spending more money on the fronts.
if your amping up, have a look and the voltage of the preouts, the chances are if its a 60x4 then it will have 2 or 3 4v preouts, i...
the higher end aplines have a 60x4 which is more than just a 10w per channel up on the sony, much better internal amp (these figs are max not rms) so if you not going to add an amp, id advise to go for the...
yep, wasnt too hard (apart from had to borrow some proper crimping tool), and made quite a difference to the voltage drop.
are the jl amps the ones that porduce the same poer over a range of voltages and impadances?(sp)
the big three as they are known, it will prob be fine, but you will also prob not get some voltage drop, so amp amp may not run to full potential!
good stuff matey!!
rorrie
you get the noise through your speakers? is so thats alternater whine.
i cant remeber what looms there are, but if they are not connected to anything, then its probably not them causing the noise.
did you buy the car new? as sometimes to fit things such as car kits you plug the existing...
i used 1 layer of normal dynamat on the door skins all over, and then he sections behind the speaker, then used draft excluder to stop rattels of the door card, as the dynamat will not do wonders for rattels of badly fitting trim but it helps with the metal of the door card, then i used draft...
heres mine!

but now there is a new arc audio xxk4050 amp and waiting for its bigger brother 1500 to power the sub. and using passive xovers as the active is playing up! so saving for an arc xover! also all the cables are tidied up
can your amp run bridged into 2ohms? (if it is a 2 channel amp).
if you were giving 300rms to both subs, you would probably stress the amp as you would probably turn the gains/hu up to high causeing the amp to clip and damage the subs, you should really try and use an amp that has either the...
