I hear you Tom, looking at the pictures on the first page, stealth is the best option :approve:
Ive been plodding on with little bits and bats and its mainly the oil line and wiring left to do.
Ive also found a picture of the interior before I stored it away as I have not posted any in the...
Sorry its not clio... Its Polo G40 engine with a turbo conversion and a 5 GT turbo carb instead of the injection.
Cheers fred I will look into aluminumising. If iirc thats what the pipe work came coated with from jetex?
My whole exhaust including downpipe & flange cost £150.. The stainless quotes I was getting were more than double that.
We used mild steel because we didn't have a tig welder and mild just kept it simple and cheap.
TBF it was more manifolds that I read it was burning off.. The internetz never lies tho?
So then fred.. Could I spray it inside and out with a good quality VHT paint?
This is on a turbo. I forgot to mention that...
I was going to heat wrap my downpipe but after reading into it there was alot of warnings about fires and it eating mild steel.
If I wrapped and sealed the downpipe would it still be eaten by rust?
Is there anything else I can use to protect it? I know there is ceramic coating but I have a...
An A-frame might be a good idea?
A-frames (& towing dollies for that matter) are ment to be only for recovery tho. They are abit of a grey area with the law as most coppers have no idea what an a-frame is when they see one haha
A Trailer is the only legal way to transport a car with no tax...
Its only a little trim off the bottom of the wing, not a full on hole. I will keep the piece I cut out and it could be welded back in if need be :rasp:
Sadly if I route it anywhere else it will hinder the ground clearance. I could have a TDi turn down style tip but Im thinking that might melt...
Im pretty set on cutting the wing now Darren. Its just a shame they are over £200 and a rare part to find. I have to be sure haha
I would keep a rear silencer or it will sound toilet dude. It doesn't look that scarred in your pics?
I think the 2118's would be functional but Im with turkish on other wheel choices.
I fitted 8x13's on my 5 with no arch mods, would you be wanting 15's?
They are ET36 as standard
No worries. He did say it was abit far for you to travel when I told him you have had it done now. he was just happy to get playing with his own VR haha
The wheels will make or break the car but the RA's keep it looking semi sleeperish :approve:
They are part of the chassis at the front its all thick steel but theres no harm in making it thicker ;)
I will keep my eyes peeled Rocker.
Thats the main reason for doing it neil the epic girth and flames are just a bonus haha.
Cheers ma dears :approve:
There is not alot I can do about them.. I can't raise the wishbone mounts because I can't raise my turrets to match.. Without the turrets raised it would give me even less suspension travel.. You could get them plated up and seam weld all the bottom half of the car when you put a new engine in...
I go to quite a few shows but im not sure ive seen your brothers rocco before are the wheels a new edition?. It takes balls to run a rocco on 13's even more so with a big block. I look forward to seeing at some shows later in the year. I really can't wait to get mine on the road and start...
The welder (my mates dad glynn) came up a few weeks ago and spotted me playing with the ktec sidey working out how I could make it into an exhaust. In short he told me sell it on and just buy mild steel pipe work and he would knock me one up. With this in mind it would be rude not to knotch it...
