Well the Superhub 3 has arrived, so far it hasn't crashed in modem mode, that's a plus point.
But "the PUMA6 bug" is terrible and it would seem that Intel & Arris cannot fix it.
Check out the jitter on ping!

There's little point in them doing that anyway as their CMTS units can detect incorrect (hacked) configs and cloned macs (this was an issue way back when they switched to docsis 3).
You should just be able to phone up, give them the MAC address (as you do anyway when you get a replacement) and...
My 2ac is crashing all the time in modem mode, I'm loathed to "upgrade" to the 3 because of the puma 6 chipset bug (latency + packet loss).
why can't they just let us use whatever cable modem we f**king want instead of hawking the bug riddled s**t they have approved onto us.
I'd probably hazard a guess that he convertor is being fed a non lpcm signal over the spdif (I.e Dolby digital, dts ) and that the box can't decode it.
Does the tv not have some other analog outputs as they would be the best way to feed it and you also won't get sync issues then either?
I had a fault that manifested like that, it was on a late 2010 one, was the drive cable - known fault on my model, replaced it and it fixed the issue.
Worth checking out if your model has the same fault.
Got Sonos playbar, play:5 (the older version), Sonos sub, Sonos connect and 2 play:1 speakers.
the play:1 speakers are brilliant, really great sound and plenty of bass, prefer them to the play:5 which we have in the bedroom.
The playbar, sub, and 1's are connected as a surround system in the...
I also went for 256. My current MBP has OS X and the apps installed on a 128GB SSD and I still have 40GB free on that.
I do have a second drive in it which houses my home folder, but that basically consists of a couple of VM images for work (one is windows which is 500GB and the other is about...
US keyboard will have to be bought online as it's not a stock config the UK stores will have (they do have a few different configs).
Mine is with a US keyboard as a UK mac keyboard is horrific for a programmer.
Seems to be quite a bit of stock for 13" touchbar models available to pickup in store today.
My 15" shipped sometime overnight, current estimated delivery is a week today.
Yeah, pretty much all this.
It's quite funny on the mac rumours forum with people wondering how anybody could possibly buy one with 256GB of storage, but people just cart around large amounts of redundant data, I have a f**k off synology because that supports my storage needs and archiving much...
It's not the only laptop that has only USB c, I believe HP have some as well.
USB C is appearing on a lot of phones now, it supports power delivery (there is no charger socket on the MBP now, you just plug the charger into whichever USB c socket you want.
Any devices which you have that have a...
It's got usb c, the connector has all sorts of interfaces on it (thunderbolt, usb, display port etc).
You can use standard USB peripherals but you will need an adaptor to change between USB c and usb a.
What MacBook Pro would you be after? Touchbar or non touchbar? Is she going to be using it in just one place?
There's always the ultrafine 5k display.....
The macrumors forums are absolutely f**king hilarious.
Essentially it all boils down to the fact that people can't afford them and they're whining like f**k giving all the excuses under the sun as to why Apple have totally got it wrong - apart from it being the most successful launch of their...
Ahh soz, get you now! The one before mine as well I believe exited straight out as well, yeah, pretty dumb decision - there was probably a 5 minute video with jony Ive talking about how it revolutionary comes straight out! If I have to hear another f**king Ive voiceover I'm gonna crack...
Except that the cable is separate from the charger on USB C as opposed to being part of the charger on MagSafe, so no spending 70 odd quid on a complete charger when the cable inevitable breaks, 17 quid for an Apple one. Half the issue I have is that my power outlet is on the other side of the...
Finally! Been waiting for this since f**king march.
My MagSafe PSU only needs to hold on another 3 or 4 weeks now! (I think it's the third one I've been through)
