Dropped the engine out of the 172 yesterday and missed a pipe ! I think it is the return from the fuel rail to the tank. I pull itself off somewhere a a few drops of fuel dropped out, It is quite a small bore, 6mm or so. It attaches to the very left hand end of the fuel rail as you look at...

The passenger side window on phase 1 172 will not go down from drivers side. It will go up and down from the passenger side but only up from the drivers side. I have swapped over switches and no difference. Help.....

Did I only see 2 x Phase 1 172 in the collectors area at Silverstone ? I was there in my Sunflower ( the only Clio with one eye ! ) and the black track car ( Schweppy ? ). I felt a bit outnumbered by the later models ..... Does this reflect their rarity ?

Have a phase 1 172. When idling for a while the rpm gradually starts to climb to about 2000 rpm and then fluctuates up and down. Blipping the throttle settles it back down to normal idle rpm < 1000. Any ideas ?

My Phase 1 172 has developed a rattle at idle when clutch pedal is FULLY DEPRESSED. I assumed this could be the release bearing. Am i correct ? As i lift the clutch pedal slowly the noise disappears, after an inch or so of movement. Answers on a postcard :)
