    My 205 burnt to a crisp :(

I should really check what I insure my 205 for. I know I got an agreed valuation of some sort when I first started insuring it with Greenlight and modifications are on a like for like basis with each one having a figure against it for replacement. As you say 205 values have increased and even...

    Car not jacking square

So, when you jack the heavier drivers side, the pass goes up with it. When you lift the lighter pass side, the heavy side is held down?

Help !Car been sat for 4 weeks now won't start

Does sound like a dead battery. It standing for a while and you then starting it but not using it and turning it off can mean it's now not got sufficient juice to start again if it's an old battery that doesn't hold charge. As mentioned, get some leads and jump it with your vehicle. Do you...

    Buzz in engine bay

Noticed an occasional 'buzz' coming from my 197 engine bay recently. It's a faint noise - almost as if it's a very quiet, fucked horn. Similar to a washer pump buzz. It's occasional, every several seconds it's a faint, single burst. I've noticed it whilst driving and idling. Any suggestions...

To scrap or not to scrap that is the question.....

Will be worth around a pint of premium lager at a metal merchants by weighing it in, so it may well be worth offering it for free on here so that A) it can perhaps live on, and B) saves you the journey to scrap it. If you don't have access to a trailer to weigh it in yourself, you will have to...

May have bent the hinges. Get your head in the door shut and have a look for anything obvious.

    Snapped slider pin

Renault should sell the sliding pin. I'd call your nearest dealer and see if they have one on the shelf. Otherwise I'd be trying local factors or nipping to a scrapyard.

    renault patrts price increase

Alright, the odd part is ott but suspension wise I think they are probably amongst the cheapest for parts.

    renault patrts price increase

I've always thought Renault parts were very well priced, so I'm not surprised.

Leaving your Clio sat unused for long periods of time

I personally wouldn't bother to go and start it every few days. I've one car which regularly gets left for several months at a time and all I do is leave the handbrake off (put it in gear) and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. It will be fine.

    Dan@SJM's 1720v cup.

The engine mount cradle has cracked and come away on my 306 Rallye so it needs a plate fabricating and welding in. I'll get in touch with him again after Xmas is out of the way but by all means give him a nudge if you don't mind if you're seeing him again this week. I could do with a custom...

    Dan@SJM's 1720v cup.

I'm trying to get some stuff done at SAS welding (after noticing you use them previously). They are very busy - which is always a good sign! Handy to have a company with those skills on your doorstep.

Just grabbed a PS3 (yeah - 10 years after release) and boy this game requires some updates to run... Must have a good 5gb worth of updates to do before I can play.

    Battlefield 4

This is now just £2.99 in Argos for the PS3. After years of COD this makes a nice change, especially for the price of a pint, brand new.

Starting a blog - which one?

What is your company name? If it's Justin Akehurst Photography, which is written on your business cards etc then try and match it rather than shortening it. Making it short and 'easy' to remember doesn't keep your brand consistent, which is equally as important IMO as the fear of people not...

    CHEAP Brake deflectors

Fair play. I admire when people think outside the box and give things a go. I personally reckon you could have bought an offcut of steel and made larger versions and bent them yourself in a vice or something for similar or even less cost. From the pics the surface area appears slightly too...

    New plates made up

I'm all for different sizing - if it's within the restrictions. For example I've a vehicle with a 5 character plate and had it made with the characters at the correct size, spaced legally but with less 'excess' either end - but within legislation. Initially looks 'illegal' and no doubt one...

Quite simply, your spacing between the H and 1 doesn't meet the requirements of legislation.

    Some insurance advice needed (urgent)

Blimey. If you're a man of principle like myself, then now's the time to put some leg work in and fight this until you feel you can do no more. I'd probably start by gathering as many adverts for similar age/mileage vehicles as I could find to try understand what it would actually cost you to...
