I have just bought a 55 plate Trophy gearbox for my 02 plate 172 and upon fitting it there is no hole for the speedo drive cable!
Is there anyway to link it or convert it as IIRC the other type is on the ABS ring??
HELP needed ASAP as I need it done today if it can be done!??:S
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
It was about 8 car lengths IIRC. Thats why I went round the roundabout so slow and exited on half throttle, so he could catch up! lol :D
BTW guys keep it on topic please. ;)
Can someone confirm which wires go to which block? Does the orange wire go to the black block and the black wire go to the white block??? (see pic)
Also the white block has 2 wires going into one end that dont connect to anything on the other end (see pic)! Can I snip these off and leave them...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
I wouldnt bother personaly! Youll get better gains from other mods! Save ur money, I was only fitting the head because I had one sat in the garage off of my spare engine
First thing I would do is sort that induction feed out! Gotta be losing power through that surely! :S
Looks like a nice job though matey! I challenge you to a dual! :D
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
I arnt fitting the ph1 head anymore as it fvcked! But you will get a small gain as the exhaust ports are bigger than they are in the ph2 head! Fitting a ph1 head and matched inlets should see a small gain but it would be nothing to get excited about...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Sounds good! ATM I dont think yours will be as quick but it will be once it running more boost! Although it depends if yours is stripped too?? ;)
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Cant afford a Sadev box :dapprove:
Went to collect the gearbox today and dropped it with my mate whos fitting it! Will have the car back tomorrow! The new box was from a 55 plate Trophy and its the bolt on diff type I am told which is better than...

Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172

Should have it back thursday though if I can get that box off 480bhp.com! :D
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
The traffic was a bit crappy, even on the motorway! Didnt have much space to give it full beans did you! But yeah it was fun, I had never been in an m3 but I have to say I was quite impressed. Like you say a totally different power delivery, its nice...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Couple of days ago my gearbox leaked all its oil, Took its to my mates garage hoping it was a seal or something. Just had a call off him an theres a hole in the diff casing! OOPS! :S
I arnt pissed off, what can you expect running masses of power on a...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Just an update on the car aswell as a cheeky video. My mate has a Focus ST with induction mods, decat and full exhaust system (think its a milltek?) He also has the latest dreamscience map on there, running approx 290bhp, the other night we found a...
Bought some new door buttons - it wasnt them! I took the interior panel off the tailgate and disconnected a plug which went into the catch, light went off! Works fine now! Must be a faulty electrical part in the catch! Just left it unplugged and put the trim back on! Sorted! :D
I have now connected all the wires up, I cut the black block connector totally out and connected the wires on that then connected the blue and brown to the right ones on the grey connector, I left the grey connector in because there is 2 other wires going into one side but they dont connect to...
Which brown and blue wires do I connect? Theres 4 and it only talks about 2 in the guide, also theres 2 plugs, a black plug and a white plug, in the guide it only mentions 1 grey plug!!! This is what ive got:
HAHA! Used to park outside my GF's work in Leeds - HBOS! looks worse in real life! Wheels are :dead:.
Theres always a black 182 there now so thought he had upgraded?
So could I just do this - "You will see a grey connector. (under the seat)
On the passenger side disconnect it and cut the Blue and Brown wires off both sides. Then solder the Blue wire to blue, and the Brown to the other brown. Make sure you use insulating sleeves over the soldered connections"
When I first got my car a year ago the plug on the bottom of the passenger seat for the airbag was a bit faulty. Every month or so the airbag light would come on but if you played with the plug under the passenger seat it would go off. Now its got to the point where it just stays on!!!
Common...
Ah right, Well I have the factory alarm anyway so il just snip the wires and get shut of the bonnet pin wires! Tidy it up!
Thanks for that I will go and get some new door buttons from the scrappers tomorrow! Il let you know the outcome :)
The bonnet pin probably doesnt make the interior light come on, but will the door open light on the dash still come on?
What was wrong with the other clios door buttons? did they fix it or just buy new ones?
And does the boot light come on when you open a door, if so its prob the doors, if...
If you push the door buttons in then the light still doesnt go off so am I right in pretty much ruling out the doors? The connections on the back of the door buttons are fine too.
The bonnet pin is totally fvcked so I cant put it back on! Isnt there someway of looping it so it thinks the...
My door open light constantly stays on aswell as the interior light and boot light! annoying! What could it be, any common problems? With the boot light on I thought it might be something to do with the boot, or does this come on with the interior light when a door is opened?
I started looking...
