Mike,
I am planning to chip the car, but dont know how I can achieve that since I am in Hong Kong. Most of you with chips bring your car in to tune right? Is there a chip for the V6 that is just a plug and play?
Thanks,
Bob
So I can just leave the second sensors hanging outside or make a hole to plug them back in and it'll be the same?
But am I correct as to where the cats are on the Mk1 v6 though? One on each downpipe and then one sensor before and one after each cat which makes a total of 4 sensors.
Thank you
I am talking about a MK1. Where are the cats located on the MK1's and how many cats are there? Is it like what I described on the above post?
Do the sensors before the cats HAVE to be plugged in?
Thanks
Hi,
Correct me if I'm wrong.
The V6 has 6 cats. 1 on each down pipe, and one big one before the muffler. I have already taken out the main cat before the muffler. The engine light has not come on because there are not sensors after that cat. Now I want to replace the two downpipes...

Thanks
found where the sensors are. the water temp sensor is at the upper coolant hose from the engine. the oil temp sensor is at the oil filter. both are extremely close to the engine, so the temperature should be relatively higher? so what should i expect normal operating temperatures to be? when...
not exactly sure where the sensors are. think the oil temp sensor is near the oil filter. not too sure where the water temp sensor is. where should the sensors be put?
what temperature is too high?
