Thats why I am planning on an oil cooler and locating it onto the front. I will look into this slowly. Not going to track again any time soon anyways
BenR: do you know how much gearbox oil the V6 takes?
then its pretty wierd. dont know why mine seems to have an LSD then. but im pretty sure mine has lsd. with the car jacked up, both wheels went the same way. I will check again this weekend.
my oil temps is at around 105 during normal driving in a little traffic. and 130+ on track. after a few laps, so think i need an oil cooler and relocate it to the front.
They are not that Expensive. I guess I can get pads and rotors for quite a bit less than Ktec's price. But I dont have the numbers yet, I will visit the store this weekend and let you know exactly which model of endless rotors and pads they can offer, but I am going for race spec pads/rotors.
I am planning to make a mold for the intake piece of the V6 and make it in carbon fiber. Will anyone be interested in it?
I'm also replacing my original rotors to endless rotors, will have custom sizes to fit the Mk1 V6, anyone else interested?
I am planning to use Motul for the transmission. That is the best transmission oil I have tried.
But I still dont know how much transmission oil the V6 consumes though. I guess there is no seperate diff oil since the transmission is at the back too.
Engine consumes 7-7.5 liters right...
How many liters required though?
I have heard that the V6 gearbox only takes that certain type of oil, but why is that? Doesnt make too much sense to me.
The clutch is surprising weak. I just took it to track over the weekend, on the way there I was going 120-140mph for quite a distance, then when i stopped, the clutch was gone. The pedal was stuck to the floor. I rested it a little then it came back. Then on the track, every few laps it did...
Is there an oil cooler on Mk1 V6? If so, where is it located? Are there any better ones available after market? Or do I have to custom one?
