Standard offset on a 172 Cup is ET38.5, so something within a few mm of that will be more than satisfactory.
I don't think 2118s come in many offfset variants, but the TDs have more choice.
Buy the wheels you want, then you can add spacers afterwards if you want.
How does it 'feel'?
I love the feel of the original material, its so tactile, but after 5+ years and not enough TLC it's hard and shiny at quarter-to-three, and irrecoverable.
If I went down the same route am I any better off? I'd still have a hard and shiny finish where I'd have my hands 99%...
I was just browsing this post from a couple of years ago and was about to like it when I saw I'd done so when you originally posted it, so I must really like it lol.
Who goes from 2nd to 1st while the car is still moving, but more to the point, why?!
It looks like an absolute peach, Dave, great work!
Since I've had the MX-5 I have to say the experience of driving topless is incredible, any time of day/night/year - really hard to describe but as has been mentioned, and as you'll remember from your Escort days, cut grass, the moon, the...
The Trophy Welsh Weekender was another great weekend with 18 of us in convoy at one point. I know Andy started a picture thread, check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
I found a few minutes spare today so I trial fitted the Ultras, which are still on the old tyres. I'll give it a few weeks...
The benefits of the forum over Renaultsport/Clio Facebook groups is the ease of searching for solutions for various problems, interesting debates on topical issues, and great project threads.
If the Facebook group wants to compete with other similar Facebook groups I just don't see the point...
Some interesting reading...

No offence mate but that's an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.
Their entire UK network cannot be poor for voice, data, 4G and messaging, in every hamlet, town, city and urban area in the land.
If you don't get coverage anywhere I'd suggest it might be a problem with your device(s) rather...
Thanks Nik.
Of course you always need to consider new venues but I think if it's works well and does everything you want/need it to then why change just for the sake of it?
Of course a change might be needed if the venue becomes a bit stale, but until then if it ain't broke...
Location must be one of the hardest things to decide on - you'll never please everyone, but is Blyton likely to be used for next year or are the team considering alternatives?
When I had my white 2118s on the Trophy it never looked 100% right. I desperately wanted to put coilovers on it but couldn't bring myself to do it.
Are coilovers an option? If not, I'd have to agree with Mossy's sentiment.
If you like the look of standard wheels then buy a set but keep your 15s for when you want to appreciate the dynamic benefits they offer. Swap when you feel like it, best of both worlds.
Just because it doesn't need anything, it doesn't mean it stops me buying 'treats' for the Trophy, the latest of which was some 16in AD08Rs courtesy of Ben P on Facebook.
And on Monday I'm hoping to collect some wheels to put them on. I found them on eBay, got in touch with the owner on...
195/50/15 here.
I use GPS/nav for speed, not sure how wise that is but to me it feels more reliable than the speedo, especially when on a non-standard wheel/tyre combination.
Edit...
Great updates Mossy, a really lovely collection being brought up to tip-top condition. A real credit to your vision (/disorder) ;)
Hopefully see you and PM05 in a few weeks?
Accommodation might be a challenge but if you can make it work you'd be more than welcome to join:
