I've just passed 8000 miles and have noticed a substantial gain in performance. I'm getting torque steer, squealing tyres on roundabouts and am seeing the gear shift light a lot more often. The car feels like its had a fistful of vitamins and a slap on the arse and suddenly woken up.
It...
There's already a lot written about this; a quick search should reveal all you need to know. For all its worth, I went for an uprated air filter (ITG Maxogen) as, unless you are going to uprate the exhaust etc, the power gains are negligible. But if its the growl you're after then l!ckledev!l is...
172 @ Arnold Clark - I know its not exactly a surprise to spot a renault at a dealers, but this had OZ's and crystal clusters at the rear.
182 in standard guise (no cup pack) at Tesco. Parked next to it and was quite surprised to see how much the cup pack makes a difference.
Mine was done in june, only because i went into the dealer over another matter. They mentioned they had exchanged the wiper motor due to a recall.
Which begs the question... if a recall has been issued, how are we supposed to know about it? Isn't there a notification system in place with renault?
My catalytic converter has destroyed itself after 8000 miles. Just took it in for its first service today and was informed it would need a complete exhaust replacement. All under warranty too which is nice.
Just for reference to everyone with a 182. Apparently it was defective from the...
Its like an elbow hinge, that throws the tip of the drivers wiper up towards the top corner so your view is a little better in rain. Its like a washing machine - quite hypnotic to watch if you are erm in the right mood
I came from a cinquecento to the 182. The best advice I can give is this:
Closing speed is the thing to be aware of. Bends, junctions, other cars will arrive at your front bumper alarmingly faster than you are currently used to. Your brain will still think 50mph, but your speedo will be at...
This is obviously someone with no sense of aesthetics. it is therefore logical that his eyes be removed. i suggest staking him to the ground, prising his lids back and allowing the various fliuds of this monstrosity drain into them.
Hear his gargled screams as his own hideous creation bleeds...
At low speeds with the gears engaged, i'm getting a shrill squaking sqeaking noise from underneath.
its worse at low speeds with fifth engaged. Nothing at all when stationary, even if revved.
it gets louder if i push the accelerator all the way down and can be as loud as the sound a loose...
Mine lights up too along with the 'stop' light every time it gets a bit of lateral G. The brake fluid level is fine though - should i be worried?
Its been suggested that cocking the inside rear wheel can cause this, sending the esp into a tizz. That may be just b****cks though.
19-22mpg; Leave it running idle first thing in the morning for 5 mins, drive it like Miss Daisy for the next 5, then thrash the living sh*t out of it for the rest of the day
So you actually succeeded in getting blood out of a stone - may not seem much as a replacement to what you lost, but i think youve done bloody well Brun. A moral victory to you kid!
have just been to my local renault dealer....
"how much is excelium?"
"we dont sell it in bottles but well put it in for you - its £6 a litre. Tkae it round the back and one of the lads will put some in"
...4 litres and a brake fluid top up later;
"how much bud?"
"dont worry about...
I check my oil every weel or so and so far (6000 miles), its all been there and the colour of unadulterated childs p*ss. But last night i got the oil light; checked my level this morning and its at the VERY bottom of the dipstick and almost black.
Whats going on???
Should i be alarmed???
I am a masher and it is fun leavin forty foot stripes from traffic lights. i just use it cos im too tight to keep springing for tyres. I agree though, it does make you a lazier driver. May have to turn it off and retrain myself.
Just so yknow....
Had the same problem - including the sensor trip mentioned by one post which involved a light on the dash and the AA coming to clear it.
It turns out to be a knocking sensor that needed replacing. It went in, job done and now its fine, or at least 95% better than it was.
same as covkid - 4 points just about to drop off (for 101 on the m180 3 years 11 months ago).
im going to live8 later - early morning and THAT road... cruise control this time me thinks
M^ toll road 3am and empty - or so i thought
Give it some juice - notice the faintest light behind me so lift off. Few minutes later im still drifting down to 60mph and get the UFO lights in the rear view.
VASCARd at 90.68mph average over 2 miles. As id spent that deccelerating im quite...
It started when the engine warning light came on on the dash. The AA said the ECU had picked up a knock which means it misfired at some point.
This made sense cos i set off with a cold engine that morning and it felt like a cylinder was missing for a moment or two.
He cleared the fault...
mine does it too but its just developed it over the last couple of thousand miles.
As for the clunky change on the first drive of the day, ive got that too and its got steadily worse. Theres a knock/pinking sensor that needs replacing. According to the garage, its directly related.
