At low speeds with the gears engaged, i'm getting a shrill squaking sqeaking noise from underneath.
its worse at low speeds with fifth engaged. Nothing at all when stationary, even if revved.
it gets louder if i push the accelerator all the way down and can be as loud as the sound a loose alternator belt makes - but i know its not that. Sounds more 'metal on metal'. It started yesterday in a minor way and i thought it may be a loose exhaust bracket.
My exhaust got a tiny bit gruffer last week and i noticed the car got a bit faster with it (like it had eaten all its porridge) at the top end.
But this morning it was horrendous. Its actually embarrassing.
Any one have an idea?
