i have run up to 18's in the past, and all this about about ruining handling is bo**ocks. mainly due to fact the roads are so bad now you cant tell any difference. andy way when i had 18's on, there was no rubbing, and you could still have a good blast down country roads.
the car will still need to be mot'd, and taxed, as well as insured, so you will be no doubt better off not bothering and just paying a premium when you want to drive again. if you dont tell them about convictions tec, ie lie and something does happen, then insurance is VOID.
i has this problem and was was reccommend mitex bu rally sedign. they were worse than the willwood pads. after i got rid of my willwoods i was told about the ferodo pads. they work just as well and do not make noise. i havent tried them, but have been told by a couple of sources this is the...

that was built at retro's for a grand total of 120 quid, years back. i had a go in it and is great fun for doing donuts, if you like that sort of thing. last time it was sold in harlow it was for 500 quid, then whoever bought it put it up for sale again at 2500, and that was last time i saw...
ive got some wilwood 4 pots for sale, from my williams. come with mintex 1144 pads, used for 6 weeks, and braided hoses. stop you like a bugger, but pads do squeel a little. a great upgrade. you may need to get different brackets made up, but im sure someone here could help.
if you could feel it throught the streering wheel, ie slight movement and knock, then its probably a worn union joint of the steering coloum. the mk1 clios are renowed for it, but have never heard of it on a mk2.
thats not a problem, most tend to do that after a while. it should boost up as normal and work as normal, but if the seals go, oil leaks into boost pressure and in to the engine and as it burns, get chucked out as blue smoke. once you have sorted the seals, it may be worth changing the plugs...
sounds like turbo seals. oil tends to get thinner as it heats up, so could be why it doesnt smoke when first started up., p.s. blue smoke is oil, so get the turbo checked.
check the pipe work from the resovoir to behind the rad, then through to the rack, i had this and it was a leaking pipe. bugger to fix, but i had a turbo in the way. did you buyit from a garage?. if so take it back.
ive tried bb tuning and they seem to be the cheapest i can find, but after 3 and half hours of phoning, gave up getting them to answer the phone. any one know where else i can get some. been quoted £65 locally, but sure they are trying to screw me.
thanks steve
orange dust is just rust. dont worry about it. take the oil filler cap off and if its covered in mayo sort of stuff, then its a headgasket, if not check all the pipework and look for a leak from any of the pipes, and also check the water pump. they can be known to leak.
if it is a head...
