the ingiton barrel is one piece which then has a connector coming out of it and plugs to the right of the steering collum, why you trying to replace it just out of curiosity

World Record bugger, Can i put myself down? i do have a 172 rep with engine etc just not rear discs conversion, ;)

The slots is something to do with the sound or something, i remeber reading it on here, i have been side to side with a normal 172 which are the same and the only difference is my airbox slots removed and engine noise was louder when pulling away, if you want a vid, il be glad to do one :)

take the filter off, put original airbox back on, take all the slots in the airbox casing out = much better noise ;)

just buy a 2nd hand engine and drop it in? will be much cheaper as it wont cost you labour to do it :)

no, its suppose to be on the inlet, so when you put the plenum on later its easier to line up, but in your case you wont be able to do that anymore. Have you painted the plenum atall? could be the paint has hardend the hole causing it to be stuck,

You need High Temp paint, but i just used hammerite and its been fine :)

Just trace them all the way to the bulkhead and snip, i had to do that for a few wires like ESP button/alarm etc on the sport as i dont have it, are you going to remove them from the engine bay aswell or just the inside?

Halfords Advance tools :) thats all i use, if they break i take them back and exchange, took a extension bar back as it snapped they were like you broke this on purpose, yh right look at the snapped part you fool, and he changed it :)

Repair it, its not that hard of a job to drop a engine in, could do it in a day tbh, worth it tho as your not loosing much money, but get the belts done before fitting it as it will be much cheaper,

^ same as was gaz said, unscrew the screws and just pull them out, you cant re-use them because its impossible to get the small square nut and the plastics in one piece back in,

id check the engine first, The discs could be warped, so will need changing, pads could be allright, just check them,

bottom end could be seized i could imagine, id check everything before thinking of starting it up tbh,

Oh right, your not far atall then, i tend to go down bala way alot as i love blasting on the roads round the lake, il keep a eye out for you, if u see a 172 rep in silver with yellow wing mirrors it moi ;)
