Just make sure you dont have to break that hard on a normal road, its due to the front end dipping down and taking the traction off the rear wheels which means they start to jump around a little bit and get a little cheeky.
I was told that it is on there to quiten to engine noise down as in europe we have restrictions on how noisy it can be. Not sure whether removing it is a simple job but i dont think it would create any problem.
