If I out cruise control on and set it to 30mph my speedo shows about 26-27 and my sat nav shows 30-31mph, so yea about 10%

They are definitely nothing special performance wise, more of a "warm hatch" The 1.6 TDCi can be remapped to keep up with the ST which is pretty poor! Lovely looking cars though, good option for young folk looking at having a sporty feel car.

Don't forget, if they "sort" the car out it will need all of the parts you need fitting AND the timing belt doing as you said there is no evidence of this, can you trust this "specialist" to do a proper job? It's not a name we would recommend on here for belts that's for sure. I would just ask...

Yea sounds like a complete money pit! How is the refund going? No doubt the dealer will try to offer you a "deal" to get rid of the car, just take your money back and walk away. Good luck!

I echo what has been said above but just out of interest did you inspect the car before buying? Did you test drive etc? Not that it will change you being able to get your money back, just wondering how all the faults were missed lol

My PAS pump is on the way out too and I have pretty heavy steering. My pump has progressively gotten louder upon cold starts

haha yup all my belts have just been changed unfortunately... I'll just wait until it dies on me I think! Think I'll get my dad to do this job, he wouldn't touch the belts due to the correct tools etc but he's a retired mech so I'm sure he'll manage... Thanks alot
