What about a paint cleaner?
Used meguiars step 1 on my mothers R reg car the other day which was originally purple but was so faded it was practically white couldn't believe the colour it came out after!
Right im off to learn about glazes now! lol Aint got a clue!
I polished and applied EGP again this weekend because i wasn't happy the first time i used it. I really worked the polish this time though and used much less EGP and it looks miles better! Very happy! My paints just like a mirror now...
Would wax straight onto cleaned paint look better than over a sealant though?
If you wax your car all the time is it really neccessary to use a sealant?
Im only just starting to understand sealants and waxes etc but from what i understand sealants are used because they last so much longer...
I use a bottle brush/test tube brush (think thats what they called!) from work and megs NXT tech protect for the lower grill. The brush gets into all the corners of the squares. Don't do it every wash though, takes too long!
I really like that its very nice. Been looking at one of these for the misses. So its just been remapped for 55bhp more? What does the tdi 150 produce after remapping would it be the same? Is that where the extra 20 bhp comes from or is it mechanically different?
Does it produce the same affect than just a wax straight onto paint? Or is it slightly less effective? How does it make the paint appear warm again if the sealant has already produced a cold reflective effect on the paint?
Anyone got any links to information on how sealants and waxes actually...
I thought the water magnet was causing swirl marks when i first had it but, thought it cant be that and ive carried on using it. It does have the texture of an old tea towel which cant be good for your paint!
What shampoo would you recommend then rich?
Well to be honest ive only had people in the back of my car 2-3 times in nearly 2 years actually my back seats are on the floof next to me here at thye moment waiting to be cleaned and they been here ages. I do like the look of them though.
How much do they go for on ebay?
hmmm Is it patterned? Any one got any photo's? cant find any on google.
Selling my 172 soon and i have around 10k to spend so obviously been looking at trophy's ive never seen one though so not sure if its what i really want. I like the liquid yellow 182's but then i dont want to stand out...
No i mean the paint looked quite dull considering it was the first wash after the EGP after only a week and the car wasn't even dirty. So was wondering if thats because the shampoo was too concentrated and has stripped the EGP?
As for the holograms im not sure if they have been caused by the...
Give my car a good going over two weeks ago got all the insect remains and tar spots, clayed it, used scratch x here and there then SRP and EGP. Looked stunning, then i washed it last weekend using megs NXT shampoo and dried with water magnet. I didnt have time to apply another coat of EGP which...
Got nasty black stuff firmly glued behind my spokes tried wheels cleaners, tar spot remover, claying and all sorts of brushes.
Cant be the only one with this on 172 wheels anyone know how to get rid of it?
Was thinking about giving this a go for my gearstick and steering wheel as its non slippy.

Thanks Rich. Im going to invest in some SRP and EGP now but what do you think of megs nxt? I like the ease of use and the wet glossy finish but only other thing ive tried is the megs 3 part so dont really know any different.
Taken from another thread:
Apply your wax in a back-and-forth motion, not in circles.
Does this apply for just applying it and not for working it in/taking it off? Im confused ive always applied and taken off in cicular motions.
Do i apply the SRP in circular motions because its a...
Right ive spent a while on this forum today looking into polishing and waxing. Going to invest in some AG SRP AND EGP as from what ive read the stuff i use doesn't compare with this for hand polishing. I dont have a wax i could use over the top unless i could use megs step 3? or does halfords...
Is megs paint cleaner (part 1 in the 3 step) ok to use often? I like the finish i get after using it then applying megs nxt or the other two parts (the polish and wax).
Also what is megs nxt is it an all in one product like a cleaner wax sort of thing?
If you were to use scratch x on one panel at a time each time you wash the car at which stage in the washing claying polishing etc process should it be used?
