Thanks for the post, but i actually asked the wrong question, i meant how do u take the bulb out of the repeater....done it now anyway...twist is the word.
Painted up nice and black with tinting spray....nice and stealth

suspension next
At the RR day, the car sounded awesome...much improved but not offensive
Power was a little disappointing but then some were...it was a strange day..some figures spot on, some up, others down...

I know the alloy weights 7kg (according to OZ)
But i took off a SuperT(17), standard (16) and superL (17) and they all weighed 17,5 kg
and its not a dodgy scale
Ta

I would agree that OZ are lighter generally...my OZ superTs in 17" were the same as the standard 16"s at 17.5kg but i was hoping the superLs were gonna be lighter still...am disappointed...wouldnt have gone to the hassle of changing the wheels otherwise.
I didnt get Toyo again, the same...
I am little further miffed today to add to my frustration with Demon Tweeks...
Only 3 alloys turned up today, but my flush fit valves are not on them....also my locking wheel nuts are missing....
Now i can live with the valves missing cos i was in 2 minds anyway....
My first experience...
Ill post a review/opinion of them when i get the alloys tomorrow and after a while.
Only thing i hear is that you need to check your tyre pressures regular...more than usual...but i check them at least monthly anyway...so i cant see a problem
Demon tweeks kindly threw them in with a set of...
No i didnt....got them from demon tweeks
They were over 800...rip(off) speed originally wanted over 1100
but demon tweeks made a screw up so i got a set of top notch locking wheel nuts and a couple of other things for nowt
we like
Although i have to wait until wednesday for them...
That was my thinking...
at least i am over 1/2 way to the weight saving the renault boys did to get the cup version...and i didnt lose my toys.
I was hoping that the main difference would be the 1/2 weight saving on the power to move the alloys cos i did notice a difference when a friend...
When i was looking for my new alloys (again) i was talking to one of the chaps at Ripspeed (whom i do actually trust) and he mentioned that "roughly" every 1kilo you shed from the driving wheel is like removing 14kilos from the overall weight.
Can anyone confirm whether this is complete crap...
Just tried wheelmania and they claim OZ dont even make a 16" superL
Just phoned carnoisseur and they want £690 for 16" which is the best price so far...plus i can try and get our 10% discount off it

Jamie
btw...just took the 17" superTs off for selling on sunday and the car is WELL...
So apart from Skidz...which seem to do spectacular prices for OZ...i cant get anywhere near that....
Anywhere else thats a little closer to midlands ???
I am currently talking to ripspeed, their first quote is £880, but i am getting to know them quite well so i will get a good deal out of...
True, but i want SPEED!!!! and i want to lower the car in the near future and possibly get power mods....am i ever going to stop? NO!!
Jamie
ps. where did u get your 16" SuperTs from for 600 notes...very cheap
Got some 17" super Ts for salewith toyo rubber all in mint condition...or will swap for silver 16" Super Ls with Toyo rubber
Call me if you wanna talk deals

Yeah, basically the extra weight of the wheel is harder to turn so you lose a little power, the overall weight gain is lessened by the removal of the 16" spare.
You can also get OZ Leggeras which are much lighter than normal alloy

opinion is divided....personally i thought that the tyres fitted to my 172 were the worst i ever had and was in danger of binning the car in the wet.
I changed to 17s with good tyres and i think the car feels better..some people i know will disagree
I suppose its personal opinion

17"s fit
I got 7x17 OZ SuperTurismo with 215/40/17 Toyo Proxes
Total for 4 wheel+tyre was just short of 900 notes

Girlracer: Thanks for the nice comments...
The OZs were £875 (ouch) this was with Toyo Proxes T1S Rubber
I got the original quote of £799 with Falken then went to my "friendly" halfords/ripspeed (spent a mint in there recently) and got them to do proxes instead...
They bolted straight...
Heres my car on 17" OZ Super Ts

Forget it!
They have butchered the 2 units (head and changer) so much to get them talking.
I left my head and changer alone and went down the speakers and amp route...this way from the outside, it looks totally standard and less likely to be broken into for ICE.
Sounds great even...
