Has anyone looked at the alternator on their 172/182 ?? On the right nad side of mine there is a wire with a red connector (assume this leads to the battery). Anyway, there is a LOT of copper wire showing at the end where it has been cut off ... looks VERY DODGY to me ??!??!
Is there anyway...
all in all, still a damn good time!!
In the last 10 or so does anyone remember any that were def a dry lap?

Anyway changed my car at the end of march, rang them up ... 1400 quid! (im 27 with...
Certainly agree with the above too.
+ LOVE that i have seen only 1 other on the road .. 4000 miles + had it since 28th March! Better than seeing about 1/2 dozen coopers every day.
The 182 has been around for a good few months now.
Mine has done 4000 miles now
I like the acceleration (5k+), stopping power, mpg, and embarrasing people who like to drive to close in their company v6.
I hate the drift you get with the camber on some roads, the uneven tick over and...
what if you kill someone else!
my mate with the 205 ended up in someones garden! If someone would have been on the path they would have been good as dead!

??? I fill mine up which costs approx £35 and I get nearly 350 miles from it.
Thats 35-40 mpg. (mainly motorway drivin)
Something wrong somewhere mate ... get it to Reno and have it checked out
Are we talking optimax? 79p ?? Im in North West near Manchester and i paid 88p per litre beginning of the week, most other shell near by are 90p for optimax. Surely there cant be a 9-11p difference!
what about all the tax dodgers, dole dossers, benefit fraud, court cases that cost the tax payer millions. Target all those t*ssers and get some money knocked of for us who actually keep the country afloat. Anywhere between 70-80p I would be happy with.
I now pay 88p per litre for optimax
Government get 65p of this (74%)
Actual cost of fuel is 15p (17%)
Oil company get 8p for transporting fuel to the pumps inc profit (9%)
WHAT A F**KIN JOKE! No wonder people leave this country to live abroad.
happened to me also. went to Reno for a few bits and ECU didnt show a fault. I remember going down a fairly steep hill near my home and i hit a pot hole on the way down (only about 10-20 miles an hour) light came on about 5 mins after that which was strange. anyway knocked engine off and all the...
After reading the posts on the 172s setting on fire on their own I decided to get myself an extinguisher as a precaution.
Got a nice little silver powder jobby for electrical fires etc.. from asda at the wkend for £9.94. Goes nice with the silver touches inside the car ;)
Worth investing in...
mines done 3500
30 mile journey this mornin got me 43.5 (ranging between 40-80 on motorway)
got a piperx panel filter and run it on optimax always.

no 182 is fully comp ... im 27, so i can drive any other car 3rd party only. reno wouldnt have that so I had to insure the courtesty car separately. t**sers!
so I have to pay even though its their problem ??!?!?
I had to pay for mine because they said it had to be fully comp.
£15 for upto 48 hours.
£50 for upto 7 days.
How s**t is that .. bloody 1.2 clio aswell!
Think i will kick up a stink next time it goes in... as mine looks like it needs a new gearbox aswell.
worrying stuff!
hopes there is a recall VERY SOON if they find the problem. I think this will hit all 172/182 owners in the pocket. How many people would want to buy one if there is a potential problem that it may blow up at any time.
not happy!
