its likely that if you tell them then the insurance will be void as the car is classed as not road worthy/fail an MOT, i neva told them about my decat, it might be worth ringing them up and finding out were you stand.

if its the earth cable is melting its getting too hot, get a thicker earth cable, also earth the neon properly as it wont help

i'm in a similar situation, i'm after a valver for the track, its so i can learn to drive properly, its not much use having loads of power if you cant corner properly.
