I'm doing exactly this, works a dream tbf. I have one 3.5 plugged into the TV and one 3.5 plugged into my MacBook. Works really well, when I want to watch tv I just pause my music and watch TV/Xbox. Try it.

I don't understand the logic behind Nikon not including a focus motor in the D40, it's kinda a step backwards, unless there trying to push sales on the AF-S lenses.

D40 does have the bulb feature.

but... the D40 is better. Seriously, I had a ago on the A200 and it feels cheap and feels like a starter cam, where by the D40 feels better.

Lol, that's cool that they give you a D80 to use, I thought you would have had to use your own camera, but then thinking about it spose it makes it better to teach if everyone has the same. What course is it out of interest?

Doesn't the D80 have 2 wheels? Thought it did. I never found that a problem on my D40, just held the +- button while turning.

the 1.8 is an amazing lens. Manual focus on the older 50mm is easy as the focus ring is so nice.

Next on my list is a 105mm Nikon prime, but it's quite exspensive :(

Yes always good to get more, the body is not being used to it's full protential with the kit lens. At least get a 50mm prime. It's sharp, amazing dog and cheap.

Apple are pretty good with this. Theres a known issue with the white plastic mac books, with the top splitting and cracking, I took it back outside of the warranty period and they replaced the whole top. Amazing tbh.

Yes, don't skimp, otherwise it will make no difference with the filter. Hoya are probably your best bet.

Leave the 70-200, would of thought its too big. Get a 50mm prime to take. Just have a play with modes, small aperature for the sunsets etc.

Yeah, it's not looking good. The impossible project is good but I wouldn't like to run it as a business, as it's replying on the old polaroid cameras, and as soon as they start dying the consumer can't replace it and therefore wont need film. So it's dying, just very slowly.
