yes mate, good old cutbush lol im always a bit nervous about taking lots of kit up there as its not a very nice area. as i found out when i went to do some car rig shots up there and my car decided to lock me out. had to put up with a stoned lorry driver and a drunk tramp for 45 mins whilst...

    Night/Light pollution tips...

yep that right mate, not my pics im affraid :( aperture also effects depth of field, the larger the F number ie F22 (small aperture) the larger the depth of field

    Night/Light pollution tips...

i would shoot with a small aperture (from f11 - f32) to reduce flare and create nice star burst effects on the streetlights. the smaller the aperture the greater the effect. example pics off the net f14 f22

    Paint advice, blending?

if he has crap paint all over the car, why not just mask up the whole car and repaint all of it then you wont have to worry about blending it. matt black is fairly forgiving

    Twilight Photography

do you mean something like this (courtessy of flickr) if so then you have to use a tripod as you wont be taking a long exposure shot (but could still help reduce camera shake if using a large zoom, depends how steady your hands are). i would shoot on aperture priority, set the aperture on its...

have a look at my how to guide mate, it might be of some use. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=328967 If he has cut the brackets off you could easily make some by buying some metal right angle brackets from a diy shop and fibre glassing them onto the bumper (use the fibreglass...

    neighbours new car (lambo content)

it probably cost him £2000 in depreciation just driving it down the street, let alone the £30,000 he would have lost for just driving it off the forecourt lol

    Lenses from eBay

yeah £50 isnt that much of a difference especially as there is always the chance of having to pay import tax. i only ordered mine from the states as i saved £200 so that made it worth it
  21. Jungle_Jim

    Lenses from eBay

it depends on the ebay advert mate, the lens i bought came with a 7 year international warrenty so i can just send it to canon UK if it goes wrong and i saved about £200 on the rrp. that was about 2 years ago though
  22. Jungle_Jim

    Lenses from eBay

i have bought a lens from ebay in the USA and a studio lighting kit from china. both were pretty good, i didnt have to pay any import tax, one of the studio lights did develop a fault which meant i had to pay £40 to post it back to them in order for them to replace it. Other than that it has...

Panning fast birds on slow shutter

nope the main body of the duck doesnt move that much so take a standard shot with a slowish shutter say 1/30, you will probably need a tripod especially if using a long zoom as camera shake is magnified. obviously it depends on how the duck is moving

    Some awesome car photography

agreed mate its all about opportunities, and if you look two identical pic using the same techniques such as two rig shots, in the same location, same filters, same post production work etc but one good car and one bad one the 'best' shot will always seem to be that of the nice car. one of the...

    Help needed with panning.

+1 i find it much easier to get good pans if i concerntrate on just following the wing mirror or door number etc and keeping that in the right place during the capture than just trying to frame the car as a whole. having said that ive seen far worse pans than these mate, these arent bad, just a...
