Do you mean the new one (which, by all accounts is identical to the original version), or do you mean an RS2 in general? If the latter, plenty of forum users still have or have had one, myself included.
Thanks for the advice, and the offer too. My only problem with this approach is I have little interest in getting my hands dirty - I have no natural aptitude for the mechanical side of things so it's better for everyone if I stay away and stick to spreadsheets ;) and I wouldn't really feel...
I'm after some advice... I'm not enjoying driving the Trophy as much as I used to and it's all because of the reluctance to engage third when downshifting from fourth. It just refuses to engage, but with a little bit more pressure it alway goes in at the second time of asking. It only happens...
Or in domestic places where's there's zero mobile signal for calls let alone data. I'm thinking places like Snowdonia / Lake District / Highlands / Cornwall etc.
You've really piqued my interest with this purchase! What are the regular service intervals like and when are the big ones?
Any decent Elise forums worth checking out?
Tickets in advance only, is that still the case?
Does anyone know the last day they can be purchased, or has it not been decided yet? Reason being, I'm going to have to make a last-minute decision on this...
@mossyv6 are you a man in the know?
I think 'near' is a bit of a red herring.
Some options to consider include:
Dan Potter @Dan@SJM ( Glastonbury I think)
Mike Woodford (Staines)
Paul at RSTuning (Leeds)
Scoff at EFI (Runcorn)
I'm sure there are plenty of other mappers worth their salt around the country, but these are the...
I need to apologise - I re-visited the route-planning software last night in preparation for the Trophy run later this year and it was totally my fault. Sorry Tim
Some really lovely shots there Chris, great effort.
As for the off-road section, that was never my intended route, it was Tim's nav that decided that was the best way between two points. Maybe he's set it up for mountain bikes instead of cars? ;)
Great weekend, great company, great roads, s**t...
Question is would you rather drive 30 miles for a 3* specialist or 60 miles for a 5* one?
It all depends what work you want doing, how much it's likely to cost, and what the implications are if it goes wrong. Some stuff I'd consider a more local option, other things are top specialist only.
I wonder if @Neil@greenlight can offer any guidance on whether a non-fault claim of ~£500 is likely to add a small or significant amount to next year's premium, and how it will affect your no claims position.
ClioTrophy.co.uk has a register and there's a thread devoted to the life and times of 075. Definitely worth checking out if you're interested.
For me I'd want to cost up the price of buying replacement anthracite Turinis and front Sachs, plus getting the belts done by a specialist (not Renault...
Trophy will be easier to sell than asking big money for a low mileage 12+ year old car.
Buy on condition, not mileage. If they've both been looked after the same then maybe consider buying a 100k Cup and pocketing a few grand?
Looks like a great turnout (who brought the articulated tanker??!), and it sounds like a cracking time was had by all.
Well done to the organisers and fund-raisers, great effort.
Looking forward to seeing the footage in due course.
My 60k Trophy sometimes refuses to go into third when down-shifting from fourth while driving 'enthusiastically'.
Not mastered heel-and-toe yet (pedal still to be fitted) but always try and rev-match, and the odd occasion it doesn't slot home it really ruins the flow.
Gearbox oil has been...
Thanks Dan, I'll check those routes out in more detail. It's for a drive I'm planning with a few South Central friends. I say drive, it's an 800 mile / 3 day experience of Wales' finest blacktop :)
