that 'big red button' is an inertia switch, you have to give it a good tap with a spanner or other oject and the ball bearing pops up.
if you press gently on the rubber before tapping it, then after you will feel the 'switch' there
car wotn start till u press the switch back in.

bought mine on 130 k, and its on 134k now.
get free oil from work and filters are 3 quid from halfords so regular oil changes arent a problem
i start mine, drive about 3 mile down dual carriageway to work and then stop it so...
always thought diesel fuel filters wre pretty vital as diesel drags so much s**t through?

went to get a fuel filter from halfords for the 1.9d (P regd) and they list two in the book
one is for a car with a bosch filter and ones for a CVA or something filter?
how do i tell which is the right one for my car?
odd thing is on the computer system they only list the one part...
so basically remove the sunvisors and the roof console and peel the roof lining back then go mental with a tube of sillyc**t??

on my mk1 ph3 water is leaking in through the roof after a downpour into the sunroof/interior light console and wetting me when i go round corners!
im guessing its either the sunroof seal or the aerial ?
