I remember one of the local pistonheads lot had a cerbera that went pop. When they opened it up they found the inlet and outlet ports actually overlapped with the ports on the maifold by as much as 10mm! One of my fav TVR stories that hehe
Dan you've kind of summed up the cup/non cup thing. The non cup is more of a cruiser, less of a compromise. The ride on the F1 I can tell you is harsh so its not for everyone. Its still a capable car without the cup pack though. At the ring the other week I got totally mullered by a non cupped...
I had a FF 172. The megane is a bit of a different proposition. The 172 is more pointy and direct in steering etc but the megane is more "beefy" its quicker especially when remapped it becomes alot quicker even "in the twisties" ask the dude in the 182 that tried to hold me up at the Nurburgring...
I can see why the Exige did your head in as a daily drive. The TVR has to be a better proposition as a daily hack.
But you still have to sleep at night in the knowledge that you have an an exige and sold it. Shame on you, shame on you.
:p

Nah I disagree that he was necessarily a nupty driver. You try going round the ring in the wet first and see what its like! They obviously underestimated the level of grip available. Unfortunate but probably not just a case of poor driving.
Feel a bit sorry for them but at least they got hom in one piece lol.
Its really is terrible out there in the wet. My first trip over in the VX last year was great in the dry but on day 2 it was totally pissing it down. Any amount of lock/power the back end would just go straight away. Less...
How far away!?
Is it like that right round the circuit then? I remember going a few time as a kid to the Manx GP and you could pretty much get anywhere right on the side of the track.
Its an opel GT. GM in their great wisdom decided not to do it in right hand drive. By all accounts though it more like an mg tf than a vx220 (ie shite)
Top guide I wish I had seen this before I went to Nurburgring a few weeks back. I had a lot of panning shots with only half of the car in focus but it looks like I was using too slow a shutter speed (about 150-180)
Theres a big thread on pistonheads about the build on that car. Some serious work has gone into it. Its a genuine shame its been finished off so tastelessly.
Must admit although obviously I love my megs 24k is a bit optimistic. Add a a couple of k onto that and your looking at some serious 2nd had competition (M3 CSL, Z4M etc etc etc) I can still see them selling well just simply because theres absolutley nothing out there in the showrooms that is...
In the context of what every other mainstream manufacturer is doing the Ultimate is "special" Whats with all the haters from the V6 camp anyway its all fecking renaultsport aint it?
I think these will fly out of the showrooms. I rekon only 50% of people who have meganes have kids etc a big chunk of owners are unmarried/still living at home or whatever. I think the lure of carbon bucket seats and some of the other trimmings that are going to be on this model will be more...
Cant be any busier than the weekend we had m8 I tell you. The Sunday was horrendous all day. Still got 16 in but you need to get up and out early before the closures kick in at about lunch time. Track closed early both days due to accidents. Pretty much normal for tourist days now as they are...
