I dont know why people say the 205 GTi 1.6 is better balanced than the 1.9 as they use the same engine - its just stroked to 1.9... Same Block - same bore... It does have extra bits like Oil cooler and stuff but I wouldnt have thought it would make that much differece... Only driven a 1.6...

Ive also seen bolt on heat sinks that wrapp around the the oil filter - though I dont know how effective they are - and if you risk damaging the filter.... On my pug I used to run a fairly high concentration of Anti freeze in the water as well as it has much better heat discipating properties...

Do Valvers and the like have Oil Cooler Rads like on the 1.9 Pug?

Dont forget its not the peak torque that gives you the advantage - its the even flow or torque through the rev range to give constant acceleration. Variable Valve timing and all that mailto:cr@p">cr@p does make a difference... & an extra cog or two in the GB also helps :)

Go for stainless! Performance wont be effected by matterial to any gr8 degree, and the noise wont be too much if you already have a full system!
