I've just asked if they are planning on doing turbo conversions for the smaller engined clio's as this is the area which interests me most. ie not just sticking a larger engine in and instead making an average car quicker via forced induction. (rather than making a quick car even quicker ala 1*2...
Yep RSi is a good choice, only 1000 made and a bit more fancy inside. If it were me I would rather save the £1300 on the purchace price and insurance (it only costs me £300 a year to insure my RSi anyway) and buy the RSi.
I think my engine is very peppy too, I picked up 4 of my mates a few...
Cheers for the reply
Hmm I was thinking it might be worth putting new d shafts on both sides as I'd imagine they'll be the next thing to go (right after fitting new rings :) )
I can imagine the issue with ordering through GSF as tbf they usually have half a dozen part numbers for the same...
Hiya,
I'm not too familiar with fwd cars, it's not often I poke about but the ABS has been activating at slow speed, I now have a metallic ring sound aswell, so I did a bit of searching on here which brings me onto this:
After whipping both front wheels (rsi 1.6 16v MK2 2001) off I can...
A bloke I know races Citroen 2cv's so that is very true and I imagine can be loads of fun. He reckons the winner in those races is usually the one who lifts his right foot off the floor the least ;)
Sounds tastey, although I imagine your scoob would be happier being able to get out of first gear on a b road rather then stop / starting around that haven for speed bumps.
Get some country lane vids up (just take it easy with the loud pedal now the bad weather has kicked in)
With regards to the Rover, only an idiot would park there, but call that space tight! Have a drive around Bath, some of the junctions and side roads are narrower than that :)
Many years ago I used to collect up the tachographs from the drivers of our haulage firm and you could tell if they had been over the limit.
When I'm on the motorway I notice more than often you'll be lucky to see an HGV stick to the limit. Cabs are very powerfull, we had ERF's with Gardner...
You might be better off saying it has a clio rs body kit fitted rather than 'it is a replica 172' but be careful how you word it, being thrifty with the truth can also land you in it, this can be why they record calls and that goes for everyone talking about 'aftermarket' when they mean...
tbh scutch that p1 of yours is a nicer looking car and I'd imagine it'd be just as impressive flying around cadwell.
The thing that impressed me most was the bike driver, makes you realise just how much quicker a production bike would be around that track compared to what is obviously a...
I love 476. I think it works very well in durability and the looks are great too, also, did I mention it was durable. 2x egp and 2x 476 over 1 weekend = bomb proof. And it is very good value @ £14 a tin.
I got the watering can out on mine and the water sheeted right off even after 700odd...
That's a bit shocking Fred!
With regards to insurance co's being anal...
A close friend of mine worked for an insurance company and you'd be suprised as to what lengths some will go to..
They have so much money it is no big deal to fight it out in court.
If it's a huge claim you can...
Seemed like the clio driver was stomping up and down on the throttle around the corners I'm amazed he didn't put it sideways. The clio did sound superb though.
You said replace the air box after a crash, naturally leading me to believe you were talking about an IK not a panel.
You say 'the chances are' they are not going to work out it is an uprated panel filter. Why tell people to, 'take a chance' on insurance seeing when you obviously won't...
You use the durabrite catridges yes?
I dont have one of these personally but you can buy a chip resetter which allows you to tell the cartrige it is full. When i shake my cartridges there is still some ink in there but it says they are empty. A bit of a con.
The resetter is really for people...
Well thank god it aint this bad, but I bet you the major manufacturers would love it if it was! I was dealing with worst case scenarios and in these instances the last thing you want to add to the situation is the possibility of a void claim.
It is a wind up for me when people just think...
FFS NOT EVERY CRASH IS A LIGHT TAP AND YOU DRIVE HOME AND WRITE ABOUT IT ON HERE!!!! If he has a crash so bad he wakes up in hospital and goes "where is my car?" and is then informed by an officer it's being checked over what does he do then!!!??
Ok lets put it this way. If you have an induction kit and you dont know you have an induction kit that is NO EXCUSE, the police, the insurers, the courts have all heard it all before. Even if you are genuine that sort of response prob wont fly in the event of a serious crash; possession is 9/10...
Better hope and pray you don't cause an accident then ay, because if you hit someone and they are injured and your insurance doesn't cough up you had better start counting your pennies.
Again depending on the severity of the crash, but I imagine in a bad accident you would be guilty of driving an uninsured vehicle if you know the facts of not. Say it was a multi million pound lawsuit or involving deaths:
I would imagine you would have to employ a lawer (if it went to court)...
Lights and ariel; I doubt it'd make a difference, why not call them and ask?
Having mods and not declaring them is a gamble, it depends on the type of accident and what the crash involves. If for example you slide off the road and take a bus stop full of waiting passengers out then the crash...
Straight 6 yeh? I do love those things. They arn't as big as you expect when you see one up close, just they are virtually all bonnet. I think even old Enzo said they are one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
UDM or PC either imported by Autopia or ^^ on ebay plus a 110v transformer. the 240v UDM is supposed to be released over here like last month. God knows what the hold up is, prob something to do with EU regs.
Failing that get a rotary, there are plenty of them being made for UK market.
He's very good, especially at reflections. He's virtually using just the airbrush and doesn't seem to use many marques and has a similar process to me but I use maques more frequently these days (gives you sharper curves)
Here's a few old ones from when I used to paint in that style:
Spend a bit on the mechanicals too and this would be very nice. then fully stripped out with renault Diac stickers and it'd make an awsome track car.
I think it looks great, the super 1600 really is an awsome beast!

What I was pointing out is like you say; angles are 'in' but a collection of uncomplimentary angles is not how to achieve an appealing design just because straight lines are 'in'.
I made reference to Ford, people like Jack Telnack own at this sort of design and he was penning new wave hard...
I used to get alot of waves from other vw drivers when I had my 'rocco. The dub scene is really friendly I think.
I was in a loaf on the duel carriage way with a load of other loaves and bugs in convoy, on the other side of the duel carriage way we spotted a rocco and mk1 golf and waved em...
Exactly, I agree.
The mk1/2 clio v6 is much better looking, it's a like a futuristic cutting edge version of the turbo II, but the resemblance to the clio II body remains, from any angle it's a clio, on steriods.
That new vee/clio concept looks like the designers been given a set of...
