I had the cam belt tentioner(?) replaced at 8k, a bearing had gone. Also sounded like a tractor, lost power etc...wasnt hard to diagnose coz the dealer found the fault in 10 mins...just a thought.

Thats made just up the road from me!!! Its ok stuff. I always use Auto Glym or Zymol :)

The alarm is fitted by dealers once it arrives in the uk, so that’s normal. All I can say is, its worth sorting out the problems if you really do enjoy driving the car, I have never regretted getting a 172 despite some minor niggles and the fact that its French!! Youll soon be looking like...

phew!!!! ;) I used normal until I read the handbook, it was in Dutch so it took a while!!!!Ive found that the car will always run better on Optimax, if I cant get any then I put in a splash of BP super.

why, oh why have you put leaded petrol in your 172????? :sick: You should NEVER put leaded in a car thats made to run on unleaded

I thought that redex was for older, higher mileage cars?? I used to use it lots in my XR2i, but never in my Clio, it just doesnt need it.....

Driving this morning I saw no cups, no 172s (apart from mine) and a whole lot of VTR/Ss.....there are lots of Clio Billabongs....most of them black, lowered, ss exhaust and tints....unless its the same one I keep seeing!

That was only due to the hot hatch insurance premiums sky rocketing and sales dropping because of this and the fact that hot hatch owners were made to feel like social lepers coz we had big bad engines!!!! All the main stream manufacturers stopped production of them. Hot hatches are back...

I like the new headlights.... but the back end, wtf??? far to micra for me with those stick up lights!!!! Can u imagine the price of a set of lexus lights for that??!!!

You could be waiting a while for the parts, the typical Renault way!! Get your car and take it back in when the parts arrive, should be nicely run in by then...probably around 20k by the time Ren sort it ;)

I dont know what the settings are but if you take it back to them they will sort it. The first time I had my car traked, they made it worse, so I took it back and told them...then they sorted it, spot on. :) Was done at Kwick-Fit :o

Where does it say that we all think ourselves superior?? Put as many Clio’s as you want in Max Power, I really couldnt care less. And I cant see what your point is about the price of a Clio, the whole aim of the car is that it is good value for what you get!? What I dont want is to be part of...

No it wouldnt. And it wouldnt stop me buying and modding a Saxo either, if I ever decided I wanted a Saxo ;) But it would stop me joining the club.
