You can share a drive by doing the same thing you did with the folder. If you change a file on your laptop it will not update on your desktop because they aren't synchronised or how ever you spell it. Its just for file sharing. Yes sorry the files in your Shared folders, will change. Sorry...

Boot from your xp disc and select 'Recovery Console' Then just use the COPY command to copy that file from the disc to that directory. If your unsure of how to use the commands just type 'help' and it will give you a list of them.
