Some of that maybe down to the mileage I reckon? I remember a Top Gear shoot out years ago with two Golf GTis, both std, one with 55,000 miles and one with only 5,000 and it was amazing how much more quicker the "Run in" 50k one was. Most Multi valve cars get better with age :) Simon
