Found the above link in another newsgroup and it got me thinking.
According to the article becoming a van brings the car in question down 11 groups of...
Many people consider the 172 a bit of a Q-car but the ultimate clio q-car is the 1.6 i think. Indistinguishable from the basic model(sports ones anyway)
0-60 is 9.6 secs standard
The 1.6 is deffinately zetec-s vtr league but in my opinion outclasses these cars on almost every aspect.
For...
Er i aint sure but if i was you i certainly wouldnt admit liability.
Just tell the truth to your insurance company and let them decide if its your fault or not
BenR would it swing you any though me coming in a new clio or would this put you off? Would i be better going in my mums new corsa?
My clios also argueably only the model down from a 172.
Also i dont think i bring myself to mistreat a car like a 172. i like to think id treatit as my own
What do you reckon the chance is of me getting a 172 for a day as a test drive. i know there is a big difference between my car and a 172 but i just want to see. The test drive would be more off a yer its toness better ill start saving as appose to a yer its tonnes better heres my cash but...
The guy at the bodyshop where i went wanted to grind my 16v badge of but i said no i wanted to keep it on he said it would take ages.
He took me to his desk gave me some masking tape and said you mask the badges then. i think he was joking but nearly 2 hours later they where masked up
Come on them mailto:cr172@18">cr172@18 how much u paying insurance?
I pay 700 in my dads name under an any driver policey which started when id was just gone 18
from my experience all insurance companies quotes are made up in different ways. With some the qoute can become cheaper by adding a parent or a wife onto it. Others adding security onto can reduce the cost but with one insurance company actually added to the price.
Getting the car insured in a...
Ralphy vts is right. 1.6 16v clios are more vtr league then vts league.
I beat a vtr(not easily) over a decent straight stretch of road and he had an extra person in the car.
id love to get one in proper race conditions
I had mine slightly sanded down.
They still look very good though. i know what they mean by the matt finish though but its nothing to worry about. 172 strips would obviously look better but in my opinion not worth the £80 for such a little difference
Had a feeling thats what active meant. Thanks nfbr
A bit of electrical tape would suffice for the joining too and would mean no cutting which is good for resale
I pressume you have amp?(is this is what is meant by "active" or is this the brand?)
Very hard to get the cable through but have you tried the engine pop hole. take the gromet out their could be space.
The remote wire is designed to tell your amp when the headunit is switched on/off and...
What about a seat arosa 1.4 16v sport.
Insurance group 5 0-60 in 9.8 secs.
Now im not saying this is a better car then the vtr but it is very good value as far the insurance goes and will probably lie within your price range
If you can get the car put in your mums name and she has reasonable ncd you should get insurance sub £1000 with cis, that would be with an any driver(anyone could drive the car) policey although you can still be a named driver although i dont know what difference that would make
I had a guy from renault look on a computer and tell me my warranty had run out as id had the car over a year. He went onto to say though that they would still provide goodwill. What he meant by this i dont know.(its a non 172)
Hi Jim_Bob im from Dewsbury too. Ive got a maroon Dymanique which is pretty much standard other then a bit of mesh and colourcoding.
Keep an eye out for me my plates R3OBBE
Hay let me know your proper name i might know you. Which school did u go to e.t.c
I connected my alpine headunit (7876) headunit using the factory fitted cables. I bought some autoleads specific for a 2002 clio but they missed of the power connection obviously assuming you are going to run it straight to the battery. This is not easy. I had a real good go at running it to the...
