Spotted a Racing Blue 55 plate 182 on the way home back into Southend going through Prittlewell about 20 minutes ago. It was either being loaded or unloaded from a National Recovery low loader
I'll be honest with the power I have (262bhp) I couldn't or wouldn't be able to tell the difference. If the firmware was mapped into a stock 182 I think you would, a bit like driving a 182 with the timing out then having it redone. Using the timing as a before and after reference.
Cheers! Really appreciate that, to think it's almost a year ago I started the supercharger conversion. Nowadays being a second car I forget half the time I own it!
Scoff is definitely finding his way round the OE ECU's, midst discussion last week he was saying he has updated software/firmware to give the FBW a better throttle response which is on mine.
You already know this but I'll definitely say it. You CANNOT go wrong with Scoff at EFI, his work and customer service is second to none. After a LONG day last Sunday with 27 cars on the rollers he found the time to spend another 2 hours remapping my supercharged Clio and ended up finishing at...
Danny I kinda get what you're saying, but remember it's all through the rev range. Peak power is at 6700rpm, peak torque is about 5700rpm, we're talking about having to be nigh on hitting the rev limit ALL the time to hit peak power, it just won't happen and not for long periods of time in any...
When we first went we stayed in a small town called Schuld and stayed at a family run hotel called Hotel Shaefer, about a 10-15 minute drive from the Ring. Another hotel was Hotel Rieder which was a 5 minute drive, and the Pistenklause in Nurburg where we stayed the last time we went. The BEST...
Exactly, it's having the right people around you. Chris will always map the Clio, his customer service is second to none. I know I can e mail him regarding anything and he'll be on hand to help out. I also have Alex to deal with any mechanical queries as and when I feel the need to ask him...
220 ft/lbs torque on mine. I've done just over 4k now and still have good compression (190-200 psi) on all 4 cylinders. Nothing showing on the breather at all so to me engine is still in good health. It's all progressive, with it mapped so smooth it's helping it along quite nicely. I also don't...
You speak to more than person and they'll say different figures on stock internals, the amount of conversations I've had over the months on limits, if/when to go forged for more power. As mentioned when mapping yesterday and reaching 262bhp Chris said that's about the limit on where he'd go to...
Browse the net, source the parts individually for best prices to build the kit up, check the classifieds on certain parts. I bought the kit second hand, parts were missing plus I wanted to change components in the kit like the blue boost hoses to go black for a more OE look which added to the...
Thanks Mark I really appreciate it, it was well worth the 8 hour round trip drive. I'm still tired after yesterdays driving but sometimes you just have to do these things in order to achieve the results you look for.
I've had my Clio 2 years in April and supercharged since last May. Definitely consider supercharging, also consider what you're going to use the car for. It's not all about pub bhp figures in my opinion it's about real everyday driveability and living with someone that's modified everyday.
If...
