The shaft protrudes beyond the seating rim for the lip of the centre cap. Not sure you'd be able to on the front tbh. Like I said, Renaults 'turini' centre caps are a direct fit for the rear.

Yea, bonnet has no bayonet fittings last time I checked. ;) Managed to lug mine about to paint & refit but then again wasn't precious about it getting marked. Indisputably easier with two mind.
