when you say Mk2 do you mean B reg to G reg? if so it was an engine swap, of if you mean XR2i lookalike MK3 G reg to L reg then it would be a proper RST

we all whinge about doing the simple jobs on a 16v, but earlier tonight i had a little blat in a mates Bravo/a HGT, the 2.0 20v 5 cylinder job, its does sound nice but it isnt nearly as quick as my 16v, and then when i had a look under the bonnet! that is a real tight fit, makes a 16v look mid...

i jacked mine up one side at a time last night and one side would give a single clunk if you brake when the wheel was turning, but i cant see where it would be coming from with the brakes, and i reckon it might be drive shaft related, its most noticable at low speed stop starting in slow...

could be very simple like a dropped lead, or somthing very expensive, check the coolant and oil filler cap for contamination first of all, and if need be run as fast as you can, is it cheap because i woudnt entertain the idea unless the saving was enough to repair it in the worse case...

i reckon i ight have seen a LHD one already on the M4 a few weeks ago, it sertainly had large wheels on it, i have heard froma guy who did some the safety testing that its vastly improved handeling over the Mk1

my 16v went straight through the MOT last week but this morning it has developed a knocking noise, it seems to knock a little bit when stopping or gently blipping the throttle, its almost sounds as if the is somthing loose swinging around as it sometimes knocks twice, i had a quick look under...

ben if i get an old head of an R19 16v will that be OK, im a little worried about wear in the valves and springs etc, i would be a real shame to go to all the effort and be left with a duff head, also, what would you want for me to leave the car with you and you port the inlet and exhaust...

i know at least one person on here has had it fitted, i cant remeber who though, i think its a prima job, sorry i cant help more,
