I know a few people who have gone from 1*2's to the dci's and they've not got any complaints apart from the obvious lack of power but overall considering the tax is something like £35 a year and they do many many miles on a tank of diesel who wouldn't be happy :)

The car you are getting the one in your profile pic is classed as a ph1 and later model with the different headlights and mk2 ph2's, it depends what head unit you are getting the alpine stalk control adaptors are £80 and for the likes of jvc, sony, pioneer and so on are £30 for the adaptors
I've got an after market head unit in my car and the screen on my dash just displays time and temp its never really bothered me as the head unit displays the name of the track and volume and all that stuff
Hai, i know that the steering wheel control's can be kept but you have to buy a kit for around £30 to keep them in use, infact someone sell's them on here mtaudio, as for the screen i think you will loose that and it will just display the time
Take the sunroof off and place some small bit's cloth or sponge beneath the hinges (i used fake shamois) and replace the sunroom with the cloth in place and this should cure the creaking :D
The worste senario then the rear shoes may need replacing aswell but if i remeber correctly for the front disks and pads and rear shoes cost me around £50 from my local car parts store so dont worry about that handbarake matey
