i was very very very very close to putting my head in there when it was being rebuilt but i have a bad luck everything seems to break when i try stuff like that so i didnt bother . it does work though
i thought it was a pisstake till i saw the engine on the last pic.... nice one dude i love it bet that will leave a few top end car owners dissapointed as you blast them of
hard to say as i have never tried using the oven lol . i would go for a low heat probs lowest setting for half a hour then let it cool and harden for 15 mins some were coldish
i would defo get a compressor if you can , i dont know how i went without it tbh i use it alot .
it is possible but it means risking gettin bits of primer into the paint/ lacquer if not 100% clean .
and you need different setting for each you need the needle screwd out more for primer...
compressor £150ish ( look out for the cfm you want atleast 8 or 9 )
guns £30 each you want 3 ideally paint , primer , lacquer
airline £10-20
inline air /water filter £30 - £xx's
then you have consumables
gun cleaner ( thinners) £10
mixing cups £5
hardener £15-40+
filters £10
primers ...
get the garvity fed 1.4 from machine mart think there £30
but judging from your post you know little to nothing about painting , its not as easy as it looks and takes along time to perfect the prep work and paint finish .
take engine cover of
remove the steel hardpipe that goes from egr to head
unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the car to the turbo. then there should be a bolt or 2 either side of the cat holding it to some mounts remove these .
then you need to ....
drain gearbox oil
jack driverside up / or both...
for brakes
the clio dci ( and possibly 1.2 etc ) uses the same calipers as the williams did . so for a bigger brake upgrade i would look into this . along with good disc's and pads ... i would probs freshen up the brake fluid aswell.
suspension
rear end is on a torsion bar so look up a manual...
my old cat was fVcked from a blown turbo . so i chopped it removed the particulate filter and welded it back together again . cant really do it again . if you go on cliodci.net think some one on there got one made properly for £90 quid
i wish it was easy to flat runs out . take your time with it and use a block dont bother just trying with your fingers/hand it WILL ! go through .
depending on how big the run is i sometimes start with 6/800 to really cut it down
then i leave it with a tiny little runand flat that down...
my motor quote were cheap for me . think it was £1700 or £1800 fully comp on a 172 cup at 20yrs old just passed no points ( havnt passed but was testing the water )
i rang for a car once and the owner said can i call you back my wifes in labour..... WTF does this guy wanna sell his car or what , stupid how he puts little things before the sale of his car .
