    rattling noise could be the dephaser, as for the misfire coil pack .. but you say thats tested. could possibly of dropped a valve but i think you would really know if that was the case. its hard to guess without having a video and being able to hear what kind of noise it is thats being made.

    its hard to say sometimes cars do lose a little water.. i would be tempted to have a compression test and see what that brings up. when the headgasket goes it can either go a little n stay like that for ages.. or go alltogether overheat warp the head and mix coolant and oil etc
