A normal garage could fit your springs but a lot tend to stay away from torsion bars. If you have the right tools any mechanical minded person can follow the guide. (try a search)

When lowering the torsion bar on a 1.8 Rsi, is it the exact same method as doing an RT? There seems to be 2 bars on the Rsi, and opposed to the single one on the RT...Thanks!
It's never going to 'go like f**k'. save up and get a faster car, or williams conversion ;)
edit: just noticed you have a mk2, so forget the willy lump :) just strip the rear and stick to small wheels.
