The worm has turned - my view on the 197 Cup

After the p1ss-poor Reno marketing shots of the 197 Cup which in my mind resembled an 898cc Korean shed trying desperately to look like it would reach 60mph before Easter - my views are starting to change. ;) I picked up the first issue of Performance Car magazine yesterday, complete with...

    Hard drive recovery services?

Has anyone got any recommendations for a hard drive recovery service? Cost really isn't the issue, neither is the time that we require the drive back. The laptop drive in question has several hundred jpegs on it. Even if we could recover a fraction of them - it would be better than nothing...

    Mac OSX Leopard

Well, after the help from Tom and sn00p on my previous thread (thanks again guys :approve: ) (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=301693) - it was a definite sign that the Mac's HD had died. After nabbing a new Seagate Momentus (great name, lol!) HDD for it and buying a retail copy...

    Headlamp washer fecked...... again!

I really wish Reno hadn't even bothered with them. Gave it a good wash on Saturday for Sunday's drive out - and when I pulled up at Lymm services - the same headlamp washer was pissing fluid out again. Is it an easy job just to bung the feeder pipes up and be done with them? It really is...

SSD drives - the sizes are getting useful now...

http://www.mtron.net/english/PressRoom/PressRoom.asp?sid=PressRoom&xact=view&idx=171 Still cost a fortune mind! But at least they are out there and being actively promoted. Give it a few more years and they should (hopefully) be at sensible prices. D.

Poorly looking '05 RB 182 with stripes, Disley, yesterday

Past it on the way home. Parked up on the road with a fair amount of panel damage on the drivers door. Ouch. :( D.

    Powerbook G4 - dead?

If a Powerbook that's been sat on a shelf for months, decides to simply display an Apple logo in the middle of the screen - does that mean its funcked? It does the start-up 'DONG' noise and then a few seconds later, just puts up the Apple logo. No spinning progress icon or anything. Are there...

Next gen consoles - return to cartridges?

Just a discussion header, really. Do you think consoles would ever go full circle and revert back to the cartridge days of old? Removing the cost of cartridge manufacturing out of the equation, I think there would be several benefits.... Fewer moving parts - possible decrease in size of the...

'04 Black Gold 182 - with modded zorst - Bury

Gave you a bib at the Junction 2 roundabout (Heap Bridge). The exhaust not only sounded good, but it really did look the part. Looked v.shiny too - just had it fitted? Hopefully you're on here so you tell me which exhaust it was! :) D.

Linux - somebody, somewhere is having a joke!

Did they purposely go out of their way to make Linux as weird and as unfriendly to use as possible? Did they have a global meeting and discuss "1,052 ways to infuriate someone who is used to the Windows environment"? I can't believe the most basic operations and uses either just draw a...

    Sky digibox help, pweeese!

I know how to switch on my digibox...... pick a channel and that's about it. What I want to know is whether or not a standard digibox (not Sky+ or HD or anything) is the same - regardless of who the manufacturer is? Our Thomson unit is going ape and regularly says "No satellite signal is being...

    Silver 172 - X-reg, junc.18 M62

.... just before 10am this morning. Had after-market alloys on, but aside from that, it appeared pretty much standard. ...heading Leeds direction. D.

    Silver 182 - M62, junction 23 (?)

Went off the slip-road about a hundred yards in front of us - as we carried on the M62. Think it was a '55 plate, iirc. About 12.30 this afternoon. D.

Today's mooch out. Out-numbered by Vees again!

Fancied a quick drive out (despite the crap weather) - so with a quick round up of the usual suspects, we met up at Lymm services. Then headed out to Jodrell Bank Jainy passing the ever important chocolate through.... ;) Clearly the dish was being used to collect water today...

Leeds - the haven for black 197's.....

Spotted three of them today while I've been at the Leeds depot. Two at the White Rose shopping centre and another on the M62. Didn't spot any stickers on any of them, though. Anyone? D.

Contact number for dicky Sky box?

Hi chaps, Has anyone got a contact number for Sky to speak to them about our dodgy Sky box? It's a standard one - not Sky Plus or HD or anything. Just one minute it receives certain channels, then the next minute it says "No satellite signal is being received" No. 28 appears on-screen too...

    EX05 *** - racing blue 182 with stripes - Bury

Flatly ignored by blonde in Ph.1 silver 172

Top road this afternoon - between Bury and Rochdale. Gave her a flash and a wave and got sod all back. The Ph.1 looked mint. Just a shame the driver had no manners. :clown: D.

    Couple in Bury today...

Silver 197 parked next to me - Tesco's next to Bolton Wanderer's

..... forgot about this. :clown: Had to nip to Tesco to get some emergency kecks - the fecker on the door wouldn't let me in the work's do on Saturday night as I was wearing jeans - lol! Anyways, mad dash into Tesco's and on my return was a 197 parked right alongside me. Plenty of parking...

Baked Bean 182 look-a-likey, Thorn Inn, last night

Had three of us looking at it - scratching our heads. No CS stickers on it, but I'm sure I've seen it before. Looked convincing - and looked well with the after-market zorst and the Renault Sport door badges. The definite giveaway was the drums on the rear - you almost had us fooled! D.

Surely these tyres must have been an MOT failure???

I'm not 100% sure of the requirements of an MOT, but surely to god, Reno Manchester would have mentioned something about the state of my front tyres? The inside tread literally doesn't exist and the rubber itself is straight down to the indicator marks... It has two weeks since the first...

Ok, here goes:- 182 goes into garage for 2 days Get a 1.2 Mk3 Clio as a courtesy car Need to contact my insurance to put the Mk3 Clio reg on my policy for two days. Need to pay an additional £25? Why? I've paid the insurance on my 182 and clearly the 1.2 is a less risk car. Why couldn't it...

    Petrol blue 182 in Stockport? MJ54 **Z

Just speaking to Ste on the phone when one went past. He was sure it was petrol blue - not the arctic blue and definitely not racing blue. Spotted near the Nissan garage (Westway Nissan?) approx 20mins ago. D.
