The needle itself isnt orange though is it ? Its white ? Its just the colour bulb behind it i think. Im sure that could be covered with one of the sample colours i have :)

I think its an ideal first car. Having had one myself. Only group 2/3 insurance, so you are not really going to get much cheaper. How old are you though ? Mods are always going to cost more, it depends what mods you do tho. Personally the only mod i would do i colour code to be honest.

Sure. I had my dad on mine as a named driver, until i found out he was costing me another £50 :confused:

A bit of solder here and there. If i was going for a different colour to yellow then i would probably change the lights. And this yellow bulb thing only applies to mk2 clios anyway. :)

I havnt seen inferno in the flesh, but from the pictures it doesnt look as orange as the above pic. i love that orange colour tho.

That seems about right mate, considering claims etc. The SP30 shouldnt really make any difference. Im 22, 5 yrs no claims, no points on license, and its costing me £690 a year FC.

Doesnt mean that you can only have yellow/orange chaps. Its only affected by certain colours... ie white etc. If you are unsure email metal monkey....but i bet that blue will be no problem at all. Basically if the colour is darker than the standard amber it will be fine.

I found the fuel gauge to be very inaccurate. Sometimes the petrol light comes on when ive got an eighth of a tank left, sometimes it comes on when im running on fumes.

There is a guide for the Mk1 172 on the CS homepage. I imagine it will be something similar. THe RS logo is no problem. Ill wait until weve got a 6 or so definates and ill order.

Technically they are supposed to keep it for 3 months. Altough in reality they will let you take it straight away and send you the V5 after 3 months. I take it you got racing blue with comp stripes. THat was my second choice :) Nice car fella, make sure that we get some pics.

Madcowz, The backing plates are clear perspex. This allows the colour of the dials, ie blue, green whatever to shine through properly. With the old orange backing it adds a tinge to the dials. With regards to your finances, drop me a PM. Might be able to sort something out.
