Must be in stock and they are waiting til 1st of Sept so he can have the new number plate. Otherise he wouldnt be driving it until at least November.

God knows how they came to have a cupped 182 in black sitting around without an owner!

Even more daft is that the plonkers are selling it for £12.5k!!!! DUH!

They could advertise it for £15k and still have people fighting over it!!!

Nice one Jason you have got yourself a good deal there!

Thanks all.

Im pretty happy with the price with it being a new UK car so it has the AA cover, mats etc. The imports & preregd cars work out a bit more expensive when you add all the bits together.

The car is actually in stock now at Renault UK - not a dealer. Its being delivered to the supplying dealer in the next day or so.

I could get it next week but Ill wait for the new plate - Im not bothered about it but the person I sell it to might be.

I found a couple of franchised dealers with stock - but they wanted 13 +, one wanted 14.

Brokers are by far and away the best option if your a cash buyer, and can get these cars from Renault at a price a franchised dealer just wont match.

If I ran a franchise, I would be very pi55ed off with Renault UK though.

A factory order is a min of 5 weeks elapsed from Sep 1st (first day back at the factory), and longer depending on the colour & spec you pick.

oh....and it was less than 12.5 toypop :)

mate, i am willing to bet a large sum of money that for that price and through a broker, that IS a pre-regd car, thats the only way they can sell them that cheap without importing them.

Is very weird I have to admit. Renault Uk have a brand new cupped black 182 sitting around spare when their dealers have a 3 to 4 month waiting list of hungry full price paying customers trying to get one?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So Renault just flog it off at 3k less than list price to some punter who just walks in?!?

Dave,

Lol - The car is so preregistered they faxed me over the list of registrations they have for 54 so I could pick one if I wanted. Do you want my paypal details so you can credit my account?

...and they can sell them cheaper - look at those whove had the friends & family offer.

Toypop,

I believe theres quite a separation between Renault UK and the franchised Dealers. Renault UK run 4 or 5 dealerships themselves - my car is coming through one of those.

I think the additional savings come from the fact that Renault obviously loose pay a broker far less - instead of say 5 to 10% to a franchise its a couple of hundred finders fee, plus an avoided payment towards a franchises bonus scheme. Thats how the margins work out. ... but again Id be very upset if I ran a franchise with all the overheads to maintain and my main supplier was selling cars out of the side door.

Just to add my tuppence worth, my black gold 182 is being delivered this coming Saturday morning. They have actually had the car in their compound for almost 3 weeks and have been waiting a ridiculous amount of time for the Certificate of Conformance (yes, its an import).
I paid £12,227 (OTR price) for it but wasnt fussed at having the Cup packs.
I cant wait :D

Oh right so how you did you get in touch with Renault UK? You went through a broker? If so which one? I assume this was a cash purchase with no finance involved?

what are you going on about, you have agreed with me in your statement that it is pre-registered!

I can only presume you missed out the most important word, the not! (have just read it again and you I now read it as you think that because they are letting you choose the reg its not pre registered, oh well, you obviously know much more than me!)

And you being able to choose the reg number means absolutely nothing, either you or they choose it whatever the car, even imports.

You will still be the second owner, thats how they offer you the discount, they register it in their name and benefit from the tax! I think you may be getting a shock if you think it isnt, most brokers cars are pre-regd unless you tell them not to but the discount wont be anywhere near as good.

F+F means nothing eaither as it isnt the dealer that is offering you the discount, its Renault UK AFAIK.

I still think you are buying a pre regd car and advise you to ask them straight and I bet it is!

Dave,

Ill try and be explicit. The car is not pre-registered.

I deliberately missed out "not" - Its called irony. It was some light hearted humour - Im sorry if it offended you.

The only reason I know more than you is Im the one doing the deal. I have the confirmation of it being a new unregistered vehicle, and that was one of the conditions of sale.

I think youve missed the point on F&F. The world of car sales runs on margins and bonuses. F&F is underwritten by renault UK and offered to each dealership by them based on their sales volume / size.

Peter is robbed to pay Paul on F&F - someone pays ultimately, but in this case Im Paul, and Im not complaining.

Anyway, its nice to be part of this community :)

Jason, you didnt offend me, you just have a deal that is too good to be true, and as with anything, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Lots of people on here have claimed to have amazing deals but they always fizzle out and go quiet, something always happens to make it not the deal they thought it was, just do a search and you will find these experiences.

I cannot remember anybody on here buying a car for less than 12.5k without it being either imported, pre-registered or F+F. The norm will the spec you have is around 13k and that is where people have got really good deals.

When you are in the realms of 11.5 - 12.5k its normally a pre-reg or import, if its 10.2 - 11.5k its going to be F+F but even then the discount changes and some people have got 30% whereas others werent as lucky.

All I am saying is that your deal looks too good to be true and it may be the broker who is keeping something from you.

If it is a uk car unregistered with the exact spec you ordered and this is all confirmed when you actually pick up the car the cool, well done, you got a really good deal.

Too many people have bragged about what they paid on here to suddenly go quiet when they are supposed to taked delivery (some find out they have bought a pre-reg when it wasnt mentioned, some have been told they cant get the spec they wanted so are offered a car without the options and they just accept it and many other horror stories.)

my friend is the sale manager of garage he show me all F&F discount of all renault car on his PC he said cant over 25 % discount on clio;)
