Well,
It’s still here and I’ve found all sorts of little jobs to do, even though I haven’t even signed the paperwork on it yet.
Fixed-welded exhaust, ordered new exhaust hanger for the BTM.
Fixed all the heatshields, made new extra large sections to act as repair washers.
Fixed Alpine...
Fast forward 4.5 years!!
Well I’ve had a strange thing happen last weekend. Basically I sold my old 182 to a friends brother 4 years ago (Downgraded to a Mini GP), he still owned it and has continued to look after it, largely it’s pretty much as I sold it. It’s picked up the tiny door ding and...
Cheeky mock up using an S9 rear door looks promising.
Daves now got the painstaking task of making the rear doors flares & returns from scratch, good job he's not bad at the metal lark.
Can't use the doors he already made as the S9 onwards used wagon rear doors with a higher latched strike pin...
MOAR!!!!!!
99% of the metal fabrication done now on her rear flares and tubs. Next job will be snagging and rear bumper alignment before laying up the rear doors.
Not a fill in job. However when genuine active competition cars come in for repair then they take priority as they will be due out on stage.
So in those cases mine has to wait and I respect that.
OSR tub complete and her qtr panel now being tacked in for the final time.
All panel gaps and snagging will be dressed and set before final prep and paint.
She edges closer to getting on the spit :)
Doing it just for giggles.
I'm a massive WRC fan, always loved the S7/8 cars from the 2001/2002 era so why not build one.
Totally and completely unique in its design and setup.
I want a 911 but I'm not finished with this yet.

Attention... Shitbox update.
Well what with the flood of competition machinery in and out of the workshop my car hasn't had an update in a while.
However pleased to show the offside rear qtr panel has been made and the tub work done.
All in steel hand formed and rolled.
She's ticking along...
Just home after a "somewhat expensive" 750 mile round trip to see a very friendly Mr Gamble in Wolverhampton and then on to see crazy Dave down in Swansea.
I'm absolutely delighted to have nailed down a set of freshly serviced genuine WRC Sachs dampers.
Probably THE most important part of the...
Rome wasn't built in a day mate. Had it 10 years and have a Mini GP as a daily. Couldn't are less how long it takes to get done as long as it's done right. :)
Gather round!!
Long overdue sh*tbox update.
Surprise surprise, Dave bought himself a new grinder so naturally had to cut what was remaining of my front end off. Haha.
New WRC cross brace going in to hold the bumper and rad. Beautifully hand made in S515 steel by the man himself.
Also had a...
Not stopped yet.
Check out my beautiful new WRC crossmember and S12b inspired TCAs. These are similar spec to the previous design but Dave decided to take a different route to reduce the chances of binding. Custom made to fit the OEM caster block, EN36 steel pins, T45 & S515 construction...
