Seriously, what's the point in MS not allowing this to be completely disabled should you want to? (i.e kiosk style applications)
They can still keep up the thin veneer of "security" by keeping ctrl+alt+del un-hookable in user mode.
I had to resort to writing a driver to filter out the SAS...
It's nothing to do with locking down, Apple deprecated the firewire charging interface for iPod years ago, they've been telling accessory makers not to charge devices using the firewire pins on the dock connector as they would be removing support for it in future devices, when the 3G came about...

Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Be aware that the TomTom app is considerably poorer than the standalone TomTom devices, the situation is even worse if you take into account the price point. I'd have a good read over at pocketgpsworld before selling.
Re: iPhone AppStore must haves?
From what I've read it's very good, much better than the other solutions and with a reasonable price tag, I think TomTom have fucked up big style here.
iGO and the Navman software are w**k beyond belief, Sygic is good and it would appear that CoPilot is even...
If you're on Sky Connect (i.e through BT not LLU'd) then it's possible that you're being traffic shaped, sky have been doing this for a while apparently, I went over to my parents last week and was horrified at my dads download speed, was down to dial up speeds. Have a read of the skyuser.co.uk...
