Agree with the comment on the comfort side.... Drove from London to Birmingham - Birmingham to Coventry - Coventry to London last night, Left London at 18:30 and got back home at midnight and to be honest i was aching all over, Was my first proper motorway trip in my 197 and tbh i wasnt loving...
spotted you yesterday in the "Fast" lane going in the opposite direction to me, I was heading for the M40 and passed you at the M4 junction, Car looked nice from what i could see.. bit of a blur though ;)
My mate spotted you parked outside the police station in Surrey Quays yesterday about 2 ish i think, He couldnt tell if you was a 172 or 182 and couldnt tell me the colour blue so not sure if your Mondial or RB ? Said car looks nice though
I had the same thing years ago, As Matt says it was down to my CAT, It had started to breakdown inside and so was blocking the exhaust gases from leaving the engine, I left it for a couple of months until one day on the A21 it decided to completely break up and block my exhaust, Had to get towed...
Spotted earlier heading from new addington towards the dual carriageway by the tram tracks, was driving my best mates skyline.... First inferno I've seen around croydon and it looked lush
Has mentioned some chap from Sutton was popping over a while ago, sorry must of got my wires crossed ! Keep an eye out for me as im always around Sutton / Wallington
Jeez mate lucky you never span out or anything, Strange how they exploded.. Maybe they were binding slightly and over heated ? Never heard of them going bang before.. Any damage ?
Had my aux belt snap a few years ago, Took the cambelt out too, I had the lights on the dash as you described plus sounded like $hit when turning over, Turned out the all the valves were bent so got a new engine under warranty
Was thinking white but its pretty common for a black car to wear white shoes... Wanted something a bit out of the ordinary, Was gonna go for an alien green theme i.e rear diffuser sprayed alien green along with the arch vents done the same, The cup spoiler wing tips could be done too or is that...
Hi guys,
I've had my 197 a month or so now but the previous owner had damaged the n/s front and rear wheels by kerbing, there not bad at all but i'd like to refurb them anyway, Colour wise i was gonna go anthracite but now im tinkering with ideas, Was thinking gloss black with the outer lip...
Bearings i have no clue tbh
Bought my discs 2 months ago and they came fitted with bearings and ABS rings and came to £95 + VAT
Sure you could buy bearings from anywhere really but then you'd have to get them pressed in.. Better to go down the new disc route imo
Yeah change both discs at the same time and buy them from Renault as come with bearings pressed in already and are £95 + VAT iirc, Also worth changing the pads at the same time too... Hopefully that'll fix the problem
Not a fan tbh, But may look better in the flesh and fitted... Defo think the Standard Anthra's look better... Or dare i say it go the "turini" route pmsl
Battery out on the n/s light if im correct... Drivers side = pfttt, Only been under the bonnet once in my 197 but must admit its tighter than a nun's chuff !
Im sure the pads are in contact with the disc pretty much 100% of the time tbh, The creaking could be because they are binding i.e pushing against the disc harder than they should, Check the piston in the caliper it should wind in clockwise if im correct, If it rotates freely then chances are...
