My friend owns a LCR and loves my 197 to bits. Had a few plays and unless modified im not sure your comment on "obviously a lot quicker" is justified. He can vouch for that, and wont mind admitting it. The 197 also gets more attention on the roads.
Neither is the 172 cup. Common to me is Focus/Fiesta ST's CTR's Audi TT's and the like.
If looks are your thing you cant beat Mondial against Turinis. I would be proud to own either TBH.
I have an 08 so revised gearbox. I drove a demo 197 with old gearbox and i could not tell the difference to be honest. The new gearbox is not going to be so earth shatteringly different, that you would notice on the road/motorway, not as much as people say anyway!
Been done to the death TBH. The cup is quicker FACT! Its simple logic...89kgs is quite a bit of weight saving. Its like running in a 100 metre sprint giving a guy a piggy back! The cup also looks better, so i'll be hotter in summer ( no ac ) i'll open a window, ill have crappy seats..still...
It would have also blacked out the windows and made it fast, just to be hidden and dissapear pronto, before actually facing the sheer embarrassment of actually admitting ownership!
