I can imagine your car took some punishment, as I doubt your bro and his pals were out for a nice, leisurely country jaunt and a picnic by the river bank.
I'd want to break his kneck if I were you but tbh he'll only learn if you let the police come down on him like a ton of bricks. He should...
Sounds bad mate but it happens all the time....
I have worked for a variety of car dealers / classic vehicle restoration companies and to be honest 90% of the public dont even notice things like this so workers become careless because of it.
I remember on one occasion I confronted a collegue...
Cheers Guy's
I did two coats of SRP before hand. It is my girl friends Ka and was overdue a polish. Was full of scratches and haze. Came out ok for a 6 year old car. Cant wait to try the stuff on my clio next.
If you are ever stuck in a situation where this happens (I had the regulator break on my clio) and you dont have time / tools with you to take panels off etc just carry a wooden peg in your glovebox. Snap the two bits apart, they now form two wedges (kind of like a door wedge)
Now tap the...
Here's somthing different; Mirror Polish the rim and get the 5 spoke part of the wheel painted in the same wicked red the body is painted in. Aka 'GT turbo raider' old skool style.
You could get a burgandy carpet made up using the old one as a pattern, so the colour theme is introduced inside...
Thats a nice looking motor.
I am on/off considering the coding of my plastic parts but I think your car looks really good with the black braking up the blue and I'd be tempted to keep it standard.
With those alloys it does look like it needs lowering, I think that will set them off better. tbh...
My RSi has a light weight alloy bonnet and I'm pretty sure the boot is alloy two, this is apparently a feature shared by a few Ph1 172's/ 1.6 16v's.
The steering wheel is also leather on the RSi.
The Mk2 RSi is alot rarer than the 1.6 16v, it's worth checking your bonnet as you never know it...
Geeeez I remember going into a Renault dealership looking for a part and the guy asked my model, so I said 'RSi' he said 'Ok then, 1.8' i said 'no, it's a Y reg Mk2 Phase 1' and he looked confused. God knows what he'd make of 'ph-quick' and 'full fat' with you RS boys.
Scrappies are some times great to just have a look around (or is it just me)
There is a large one in Telford and they have it layed out by model and even have a huge Jap section with loads of mad Jap cars that I didnt even know existed. You can buy ex comercial vehicles and right at the back...
After a rough week of daft deadlines and even dafter clients am I alone here in feeling like cleaning the car is some of the best therapy you can get, or is that just weird?:o
^^^ what they said
It's almost certainly a relay if there is clicking heard, which can happen if a short is found in the circuit. Water ingress, a bad earth or (prob more lightly if it's after market radio) something shorting on your HU wiring. Any connections to this should be checked.
It seems (to me) like they are trying to convince you to spend money.
Before the cable was replaced;
Was there ever any sign of slipping when gunning the car in a higher gear?
Did the car creep when stationary even with the clutch pedal fully depressed?
Was there ever any judder when the...
The bain of old car ownership. Unless your cars under 3 years old garages seem to treat you like crap.
You could look into adjusting it yourself. Does the cable feel like it has some free play or is it very tight (between the adjustment assembly and the Gearbox)? If its slack, there's your...
Hey dude,
Like the 172 rims. I've got the RSi version, in black with half leather and alloy bonnet. I love it to bits I think it's a really good compromise to the 2.0L's, cheaper tax, insurance and fuel costs, but still enough fun!
I'm on the prowl for some 15" team dynamics 1.2's in black...
I can rarely be arsed to polish my car but I dont have any reason to doubt your product as I havent tried it. You say you've been in the industry a while so you must know that people want to see all the facts before they part with any cash.
If I were you I would attend FCS or one of your...
^^
Yep fraid so. Same thing happened. Got hit from behind by some old fart not paying attention about a year ago and the car was written off.
You have to specifiy it on getting a quote. If you dont and they find out you're as good as uninsured.
Even if you 'win' the claim it's still a Lose...
I've used T-Cut for years. With living down country lanes, and being driven off the road every other day by tractors + the like, the sides of my car get scratched by the hedges.
So long as you are carefull by not pressing too hard and not out there every weekend doing it, there is a low risk...
They are down there with under car neons and stick on 'non functional' air vents as far as I'm concerned.
Lexus lights even look a bit naff on lexus's these days.
All good advice.
A nice nippy car will do you well and you can make it look nice enough and still have enough for insurance without eating too much of your 5 grand. Any 1.2 or 1.4 is more than enough for the first couple of years after you pass your test.
I had £5k burning a hole in my...
