    Its left the garage...

And I thought I was the only one! Every car I've ever owned has been like that for me, it's part of the package that comes with car ownership and just like having a big expensive toy to play with!!:approve: I waste hours dreaming about the day I can own a vee of my own!!

    i want a new clio!!!

^ Would have loved a clio 1.4 as my first car. I rekon the one you found on pistonheads looks nice, even the standard alloys look ok. At a passing glance it's not too different to mine (1.6 16v RSi) The ph1 shape is a nice looking motor, esp in black.

    ABS Q's

Tryed it and you're right the pedal does judder and no skid on a wet road. Worked at 30mph and 50ish. I sometimes get the ABS activating even from 10 - 20mph and not under heavy braking ie, slowing smoothly for traffic islands and lights. Is this normal? Just so you know: Std wheels...

    ABS Q's

How do you know abs is activated? When ABS is activated should you be able to feel it through the brake pedal? And should it be accompanied by any (mechanical) sounds at all?

    my clio

Good luck with the sale. It's a fantasic price and I think some one will be getting a bargain. Just one question, how much did you pay to get the colour codeing done, it looks like a good job? And enjoy the MX5 turbo, I had one (non turbo) a year ago and I know I'm gonna miss it loads in the...

    Decisions, decisions...

option 1 I'd have an Elise. They aint practicle at all but that aint what ya looking for, right? option 2, I dunno if you'd ever catch me on a performance bike but ya right, if you want somthing 'proper' fast thats gonna give you a buzz thats your best option. option 3, maybe you've got a...

    Renault Called....

You've got off lightly. I'm sorry to sound harsh but I have to say; your taking some old dude to court for the simple fact that he was unlucky enough to be infront of an inexsperienced driver who couldnt control his car properly and the result was you crashed into him. If I were you I'd...

is this any good????? (please look)

looks ok being all stainless steel and having the sensors, I'd go for a stealth exhaust if it was me though.

    Black gold colour code

What is the the Black Gold colour code? Where do I look for my paint code? The reason I ask is because while polishing my car (on close inspection) the metallic particles seemed to be gold or maybe it was the sunlight playing tricks with the colour. Are chip pens available in this...

Swissvax Best of Show Carnuba on Black Gold

^^^ Aint that the truth. Every time I wash my car it's like waiting for 'carwash catchphrase' with the old folks "you can do mine after" and "washing it again??!" and "you've missed a spot" etc etc. I just smile and nod! Your car looks fantastic btw Rich.

Got Reversed into last nite !

Damn shame but could be worse. My first time: someone turning in a no through road drove straight into the side of my old ford, no details left. second time: Woke up new years day found someone had repeatedly hit the side of my mx5 rear wing denting it about 10 times, no details left...

    alltime renault sport car

Yhea the rally coupes, I remember travelling up to see some of the RAC winter stages circa '97 or '98 with a bunch of mates in a golf and an old talbot. I didnt like the styling of the megan much back then, I like em now but I still prefer the celica gt4's of the same era.

    painted engine covers!!

Middo you're work is top quality. Years ago I worked as a valeter in a vaxhall bodyshop and they were unable to achieve this sort of quality on trim work, you'll be building that reputation of yours very quickly. Just one question, are engine covers available for the MK2 PH1 1.6 16v...

    Insurance Write Off Rip-off?

Your not alone on this one man, My mx5 was written off about 6months ago. Dispite it also not being my fault it took photo's of the scene and a lot of leg work to get it settled. My insurance was supposed to come with a replacement car which never showed up and when I argued that I needed a...

    Another newbie

Welcome, from another newb. I'd say thats 400 quid well spent if it runs well. Like you said build up your insurance but if you want to put alloy wheels on it get some valver turbines. I wouldnt bother colour coding unless you find some cheap bumpers already c/coded at the factory (try...

like marmite - you'll either love it or hate it...

Not somthing I'd own but I cant see the problem with others doing it as it's nice to see people being a little bit individual. The glittery flake paint-work reminds me of bumper cars I went on as a kid at the fair, good memories, so I like glitter paint alot just not on own my car!

    Bonnet Question

Great! lol at me thinking it's just flimsy renault parts!

    Another abused v6!

I know what you mean. I'm shy of things like that so I'd source some new lights before picking it up and fit them before driving it home. Better yet advertise them as clio 'V6' Lexus lights with that picture on ebay and watch them go for a small fortune.

    Bonnet Question

Checking the catch the other day and my bonnet felt really light, I've noticed that the stone chips arnt going rusty. Did renault make them from alloy?

V6: Is it really worth it

As far as I'm concerned it ticks every box for me. It's rare It's small It looks like a beast And it has a V6 - in - the - fcuking boot for christ sakes! And there isnt much choice for this breed of car :- You could get a classic RS200 a T16 Pug or a Turbo II or a 6r4 but they are all...

    Life at the redline!!!!

It's all about the servicing mate. My RSi 16v pulls like a train at 82k and gets 350mls to a tank and is fully stamped up in the service book, trust me yours will get better with age too. I gotta say tho; ragging any engine from new will prob do more damage than ragging a higher mileage...

V6: Is it really worth it

Too true, if performance figures are your 'thing' then buy a pack of Top Trumps, it's cheaper IMO. If you want to enjoy a car then you have to buy something that will make you happy every time you turn the key.

help getting locking wheel nuts out

If it is the 'star' shaped locking nut; Find a strong socket (you'll prob need 4 of the same size) which fits into locking nut and hammer the socket in untill it stops, now use the hammered in socket to undo the lock nut. Halfrauds / Srewfix (£20 ish) do a socket which bites into outside of the...
