Hum - none of them are all that to be fair -
KTEC are making you pay all but £9k for the colour - like for like the same car in say blue is £7250 at best.
Depends how desperate you are.
I havent seen a decent Alien Green up for sale for about 2 years.
When I first started out in 2009 / 10 I used to drive all the way from Kent to malpas to use birchdown - one of the best specialist out there -
But as you say you live & learn -
I had exactly the same with a replacment gearbox where ANother specialist replaced a 200 gearbox & gave choice on...
Yes - it was worth a try but ultimatly that was to high for the miles no matter how mint it was..
The car was only a punt & something to tinker with TBH -
Also maybe it may have sold if I had left it up for a long time @£4k but Id rather just move it on :)
The appreciation curve will be about as steep as ownership costs
vis a vis - if you have one now - you wont gain a great deal net - or lose either, however theres minimal long term profit in a 172 Cup
You will need one thats sub 60k & in mint condition- ( proper mint )
you may be able to squeeze 4500-6k out of one the lower the miles-
But for that price everything needs to be perfect - ideally totally standard ( with the exception of say springs & exhaust )
Great brand tyres / perfect...
That will cost about £2-2500 to get right.
plus it has next to no service history.
I guess it might me ok at 1000-1200
but you will be doing
All belts again & dephaser + service
suspension will be cheap patent parts
paint
dents
tyres all round
alloys
exhaust will be falling to bits.
